When CnC3 came out some people were complaining too... I believe when KW was here there were people saying "not enough cyborgs in MoK, or where is the tiberium life" but the essential core of the game was true to Command and Conquer, leaving most people happy.

When CnC4 came out there was a very big outrage among the CnC community. So much so that it convinced the developers to fix it up in CnC5.

CnC3 is about fast paced action but it is also about building your base strategically. I don't think the modifications made to the gameplay that we see now in CnC4 were necessary at all. If you're camping most of the game in CnC3/KW, you're either 1) in a very special situation or 2) are a noob and playing redzone.

Don't get me wrong though, CnC4 alone seems to be a good game... but is it worth being called a CnC? Just saying.

Problem is we have to make do with it being called a cnc.

Also i wouldnt really say CnC3 was fast paced, it is certainly slower than RA3, and quite slow paced all round imo.

To lots of people it is not a C&C game. But I like playing C&C4 and I will keep calling it a C&C game. Also EA is still selling it as a C&C game so that is what it will stay as.

    You thought so?

[QUOTE=RedAlert2008;71133, it is certainly slower than RA3, and quite slow paced all round imo.

I played lots of people that were making the transition from RA3 to CandC3 and hated it because (and this is the reason they gave) it was to fast paced for them. They complained about the way rushers would just break their economy down so fast and torture them the entire game. I have never played RA3, I've always played the tiberium wars. So with that being said I really don't think its slow paced at all. You made your own pace in CandC3. If it was slow all around for you then you were a player who probably like to build a army and then attack. Others would attack while building and teching up. Also depended on your faction(black hand was my S.H.I.T.)

I would call it fast paced for a base building RTS. Or atleast the ones I've played. I haven't played RA3 though.

Really the best way to win is keep pressuring the enemy while managing economy. I've played and seen matches with battles after battles, from t1 to t3 battles. It's fast paced IMO.

Watch GreenZEROs Vod's on youtube. Just type 'greenzero kane's wrath'. He makes them weekly for Gamereplays dot org, the games are interesting to watch.

The real problem is that CnC4 was never intended to be CnC4 from the beginning, it was supposed to be a game for the asian pro-gaming market.
But EA in their infinite wisdom decided to simply relabel it as the final installment of the Tiberium saga and slap a half-assed storyline on it.

As a spin-off CnC game it might have done ok, but as a Tiberium sequel it was doomed to failure, for two primary reasons.

1.) ALL the gameplay that was the trademark of the Tiberium saga was thrown completely out of the window, despite the fact that base and army building is the main attraction of the franchise.

2.) Plot that was total crap.
The plot of CnC 4 made absolutely no sense, Kane was completely out of character and they pretty much threw the entire previous story arc out of the window.
Suddenly after years of plotting and planning and the unwavering belief that Tiberium is the future of humanity he instead helps them get rid of it, not to mention that the cliffhanger ending of "Kane's Wrath" is not even touched upon, its as if it never happened.
The entire ending of CnC4 is also a very lame "deus ex machina" as in an instant all Tiberium vanishes from the surface of the earth.

The Tacitus's Tiberium secrets can make or break empires. That with Kane who is a close second to god and who also has Legion. Then with Kane's design TCN all the Tiberium crystals reverse around the globe even in the most contaminated red zone.

To me the plot of C&C4 does make sense and is canon from Kane's Wrath and even Tiberium Wars. The Final War on Earth known as The Ascension Conflict is over. Prepare to ascend to a world full of mature Tiberium when the next saga begins, and where you will be more accomodated with what you want.

I have over a period of time been thinking of getting C&C4 as i have been playing C&C 3 online for along time but after reading reviews i thought this sounds like other games and i was right Dawn of war, The C&C 3 Online game play has been around for ages and rumours are around that EA are on about shutting the servers down. I have played C&C4 on a friends PC and was surprised on what they had done to the game Khans wrath was a massive step but was easy for C&C 3 Tib wars users to come to and with the new weapons brought some cool maps, I have made some good friends on there all around the world but were dreading EA turning the servers off
On Khans wraff there are loads of maps that have been made by users and are still very challenging, we all hoped as khans wrath followed C&C 3 Tib we hoped the game play would be the same but as this game has come out and people found it was not and the only good thing was a sound track that thanks to a User you can listen to them so what will C&C 5 Bring lets hope what was good in C&C 3 after all this set the pace of what we hoped would be a good strategy platform this is not a dig at C&C 4 but it is not a follow on from the others but a game on its own
I have Also Red alert 3 and there are similar game play between C&C3 which is good if some one buys that and wants a different game
But this is one person that will be not buying C&C 4 but may be if C&C5 has a similar game play to C&C3

    AND TEH AVATAR POWER VOICE

    AVATAR POWER ON.

    My quote:
'Meh, I don't really care anymore about the new games direction, with many loads of hours(make that years actually) on Tib Sun, YR, Generals, CnC3, and RA3, plus all the mods they come with, another game with the same old formula is rather redundant IMO. '
