Allow infantry to build defensive structures.

    Subject:
Allow infantry to build defensive structures. i.e. trenches or pill boxes.

    Description:
These would not stop armour, but would provide a defensive bonus to infantry. This would allow maps like world war one where there was nothing but infantry and trench systems.

    Positive Effect:
more in-depth game play and tactics.

    Negative Effect:
None that I can think of.

Quite interesting. I think it worked quite nicely in C&C3 where GDI Riflesquads could build Fox Holes.

I think it has already been done a little bit as C&C_Fin said in C&C 3. Then there is also the Soviet Engineer in RA3 who would build a Battle Bunker.

Maybe there could be a infantry that deploys a sentry turret to target enemy units for a short while.

I like the idea. I think it should be mainly for special infantry, however. That or each infantry unit can build a weak defensive structure that they stay inside, the structure itself depending on what kind of unit it is.

I think if this is to be done, it should be reserved for select units, such as engineers, for GDI, maybe build Guard Tower, for Nod, build flame turret, or some such stuff like that.

Also should allow abbility only if a few units get together.

RED: That's also a good idea.
TURQUOISE(?): That's another good idea, but I think that that should be for making a more powerful building.
However, I still think either specific units, maybe the two main grunt units, should be able to set up simple positions, like sandbags/pillboxes.

Why would you choose such an negative color for a good idea?

Its just like the tank busters in RA3. But I just think the soldiers should take a bit of time to dig the trenches since people are not drills.
