Will the DLC be a pay-to-win type content? I hope not

    As stated here:

Ever-evolving Experience – Enhance your game with an expanding array of downloadable content. From maps and units to factions, campaigns, and more, the fight against terrorism is deeper than ever.
There's no word atm if these are for free or not. But if you have to pay for them I just hope they'd take the same direction like End of Nations did knowing that you can download units and factions:
Is End of Nations going to be pay-to-win?
No. Core to the design of any successful strategy game is that all players are on a level playing field. It will not be possible for players to buy their way to success, where the player with the most money will win. End of Nations favors strategy and skill.

I'm going to get to rank 1 by spending $20 on an "Instant Overlord Tank Pack" at the start of every game.

Pay to win games are a scourge on modern video games. Paying to blatantly cheat is disgusting. Even in some single player games it's pretty disconcerting such as the case of BioWare's Dragon Age 2, wherein a substantial amount of loot is outright purchased; removing any additional potential gameplay from an already shallow game.

35000 BioWare points for new costumes for our infantry characters sounds about right. You will still see people buying it "just to support the developers," too!

I'm just glad that my other favorite game, EVE Online, was seemingly able to avoid an outright pay-to-win scenario this past year (despite pressure from higher ups at their company to implement one), as if it had been implemented, I would have quit. I hope EA has the good sense to keep DLC units and factions away from ranked and tournament games, at least.

Probably like Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander 2 - People who have the additional units can only use them against those who also have them.

Sort of like an expansion pack. If you don't have it, then you can't play against people with it, unless they turn it off, or you can, but neither of you can use the expansion content.

I hope these are DLC packs on the style of DoW2, they were truely cool.
Live well. It is the greatest revenge... And be the salt and light of Earth.
