My concern about Origin isn't probably enough to keep me away from Gen 2, but I will take extra steps to protect my privacy that shouldn't have been crossed in the first place. I will sandbox it, block ports, even going as far as isolating it on a separate OS/HDD, and do what I have to do.

I wouldn't mind it as an option, but I don't want a forced system. BF3 beta wasn't a problem for me as I have several monitors, and was able to run the game in windowed mode. I like the idea behind the Battlelog browser as I can quickly monitor and check lobbies, even while not in-game in the first place.

Origin only scans your HD for existing EA titles and some Steam EA titles that it can detect and use under it's program. I know Origin detected my steam copy of Medal Of Honor and a few others and added them to my Origin Library for me. Steam and Origin operate the same way when it's comes to privacy though. Origin and Steam both only scan your HD for steam/origin related items and for usage statistics and other nnon-invasive information in order to improve the software and how product are delivered too you digitally.
