    Indeed, thats fair IMO.

    My quote:
'Meh, I don't really care anymore about the new games direction, with many loads of hours(make that years actually) on Tib Sun, YR, Generals, CnC3, and RA3, plus all the mods they come with, another game with the same old formula is rather redundant IMO. '

Anyway NOBODY forces you to buy it. You have a free will, USE IT!
DLCs are usually overpriced for such little content. And the content is usually only aesthetic changes anyway - adding little-to-nothing in the way of new gameplay. This is done because it adds to the base-game instead of having a separated Expansion that can be filtered or loaded separately.

Expansions offer lots of new content, including new game play, new campaigns, all the things DLC could offer and much, much more.

Why should I have to suffer and miss out on more content for my games just because the developers are greedy and/or lazy?
And for the record, I am using my own free will in requesting Expansion packs instead of DLC. Are you implying I should just be quiet and be content with what the developers give us? Yeah, because we all know they have our best interests at heart. That's when free will goes out the window.

But noone really does Expansion packs anymore..you either get standalones (Supreme Commander:Forged Alliance) or just tons of DLC.
Expansions are a thing of the past i'm affraid, although i loved all the exp. packs for the Westwood C&C games.

it wont be hats, but I sure hope that if entire factions become DLC, that they aren't pay- to- win factions. this should be heavily beta tested

Use Torrents? I know what you have downloaded. click my sig for proof

slick paint-jobs for your tanks perhaps

im just concerned their gonna end up costing 5 times as much as the original game disc for all the content..

dont get me wrong, i like the game to be supported but i dont want it to cost so much more than it should be.

    eg

    game disc £35
    map pack £5
    map pack £5
    map pack £5
    new faction £8
    map pack £5
    new campaign £10
    map pack £5
    map pack £5
    new faction £8
    map pack £5
    more missions £10
    map pack £5

    etc etc

    thats the fun of microtransactions.

I had a look at the money I spent in the last 6 months of playing WoT, and its ridiculous how much money I have spent on it without realising

That's the fault of the developers/publishers being brain-less sheep. Following trends instead of setting them.
Some developers still make expansions: Diablo 3 is set to have 2 expansions. AoE3 had a couple.

What's so wrong about Generals getting at least 1.

Again, nothing wrong with that. As long as the base game feels complete, DLCs are just mini expansions, with the added benefit of being able to pick and choose what you want, instead of buying a whole package deal like you would with an expansion. Sure, some companies do overcharge, but I would rather over pay a little for EXACTLY what I want than pay a proportionately right amount for everything that would be in an expansion, but end up paying for things that I don't want.
