    Single Player Campaign

    Subject:
    Single Player Campaign

    Description:
It would be good for Generals 2 to have a much longer single player campaign (around 15 missions per faction) and one that's also more challenging than Generals or Zero Hour's.

    Positive Effect:
    - Much more interesting gameplay
    - More time discovering units that you might not normally use
    - More video briefings to give backgound to the game
    - More variety in missions

    Negative Effect:
    N/A

Possible negative effect: Less time spent on multiplayer.

I won't touch the single player so I could not care any less about this however I understand that is not how everyone feels so I'm totally cool with a much better single player experience simply because I want Gens 2 to be a huge, huge success so that EA says "Gosh if we do it right look what happens....." which means the game needs to be build for more than just my selfish interests. Having said that time spent on one portion of the game is time not spent on others so there is a potential negative that needs to be mentioned.

Suppose I'm the opposite in that I don't really care for the online gaming part although I do recognise it's importance in keeping a game alive

What about amalgamating it with Global Conquest / Challenge ?

Better to keep it separate I think, challenge mode works as a separate mode quite well in ZH...

I'd like to see longer campaigns. I remember Generals having 7-9 missions per faction, and ZH 5 missions per faction.

agreed, id want the game to ship with 15 missions per faction. i dont think it would harm multiplayer much.

Indeed, they need to be refined, and a decent length.

And Co-op Mode would be nice.

    My quote:
'Meh, I don't really care anymore about the new games direction, with many loads of hours(make that years actually) on Tib Sun, YR, Generals, CnC3, and RA3, plus all the mods they come with, another game with the same old formula is rather redundant IMO. '

sounds like it is going to have co-op red alert 3 style by the description from the announcement

Actually, the description says nothing about that.
