Well, in Generals, there was diversity between China and USA. This is not IRL. :P

Despite that, I was thinking, what if the USA has become drone-centric now? None of the vehicles the EU has so far look like drones. What if the USA is no longer a huge military, but rather has gone towards robotics instead? Their faction could be based on more subterfuge or strong but weak vehicles with some commandos on the side? Perhaps they could even be spam-based instead?

Nah, I don't really like it. I think the EU will have a different way of combat than the US(like Fire-support, defense orientated), but still much more modern compared to other factions.

I really think and hope it is China, (I want my army of Overlords and Dragon Tanks back! hehe) it does not make since that they would cut China after they won the war and formed an "euroasian" alliance with the EU in ZH. There would be a HUGE continuity issue in both the story and gameplay.

I really hope it is not Russia it seems inplausable and overused. They should remain in the RA universe unless they are talking about a merger here which I have mixed feelings on.

However a more down to earth Japan (NOT RA3 Japan) or North Korea would be interesting to see.

Japan never really had any kind of military after WW2, and they still don't today. Plus, they aren't really a major player on the world usually.

North Korea would fit, especially if you want to have nukes and flame weapons without it being odd. I somewhat think that perhaps to make it possible for this game to be sold in China and Germany, they will tone down a few of the elements we've seen in Generals, such as China using nuclear weapons and flame weapons widely and/or irresponsibly. (And perhaps change suicide bombers / bomb trucks into drones) That, or change the faction to a more obvious one for this kind of military philosophy - North Korea.

I always found that NK would be a better fit for Generals than China, considering China's faction identity in Gens and ZH, even when Generals 1 had just come out.

And while Russia would not be a terrible choice, nor would I be absolutely against it, as you mention it, they have already been in Red Alert as the main player behind the Soviet Union, and every modern warfare or near-future game has them, despite the fact that Russia is far from being the bigger military superpower since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Right now, the biggest military powers on the globe are the USA and China.

IMO they should have China changed then, Flame weapons are not that bad, but maybe replace the nukes with sum-thing else, could be Earthquake Weapons, Shock wave Weapons, wutever good SW replacement.

Earthquakes would be ironic for China now. Heck, they'd probably be better off with a giant cruise missile or some weather control device.

Well, if they use nukes again, they need to be so it doesn't offend the Chinese Govn't.
Best bet is NOT nuking a civilian population. If you gonna nuke something nuke the enemy Base.

What about the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) as the third faction. It's biggest contributors would probably be China and Russia. So then it would satisfy people who want both armies in the game.

They can always call them PAC:

Live well. It is the greatest revenge... And be the salt and light of Earth.

Nod, Aliens, Chuck Norris, The Wormmandos, A faction with ninjas and robots that transform to airplanes...

Just kidding, maybe it is the Russians, they are pretty loved as a faction by the Generals community and can match EU and GLA on the battlefield, it would also mean that the battlefield is now Europe, a classic place for a World War themed game.

LITTLE DIRTY THOUGHT HERE: You read about the "downloadable content" that'll be in the game huh? I feel like the USA and China will be released as bonus multiplayer factions in the future. Just a though. :P
