My quote:
'Meh, I don't really care anymore about the new games direction, with many loads of hours(make that years actually) on Tib Sun, YR, Generals, CnC3, and RA3, plus all the mods they come with, another game with the same old formula is rather redundant IMO. '
IMO the GLA feels a lot less... present now that Bin Laden's dead. So I'd say the GLA needs to become more Global. Chinese, Americans, Europeans, etc surely there are some non-middle eastern nations (or at least people) who agree with their agenda?
That's in Red Alert, which isn't as bound to realism as the Generals universe is (not that it's TOO bound to realism, but it would be more realistic than the Red Alert Universe). If you want to add sexy women to the common military in the RA universe, then I wont complain.
That is a good point. However, you do have to realize what the GLA was originally based off of.
Although, since it is the year 2030, it would make logical sense if the women were allowed to fight, if the kind of change that's happening now in the Mideast happens and continues in the General's universe.
Alright, time for my own thoughts. EA could very easily do either based on what I've seen them do:
A: DLC that basically takes Generals 2's gameplay, and completely adapts it to a new setting, like Bad Co 2 Vietnam. I'd like to see World War II or the Korean War get rendered as a sort of DLC expansion. Has a slight chance of being standalone, like what they did with Uprising.
B: New units that usurp the balance in favor of people who own them. I see this being more likely as it means EA can milk existing players to pay up or get screwed in multiplayer. Extra bonus points if the data for the units - and I mean all the data, the stats, the model, the unit response voice lines - is packaged in the game when it ships.
C: New maps. It's a common trend with FPS games these days.
D: A new game mode. Survival mode, something like DOTA, so on.
Updating my awesome DLC idea's:
Chess DLC: This DLC will install a brand new online chess game into the Generals 2 game. When its installed, you should be able to find the new feature on the menu screen. This chess game works the exact way as normal chess games, except that now you controll C&C units instead. It could be of any universe; Tiberium, Red Alert and Generals. You can play this chess games against computers, with an easy, normal and hard setting. Or you can play it online against others who have bought this DLC aswell. This DLC should cost a little money trough.
(new) Achievements/trophies/collectibles DLC: Incase when Generals 2 doesn't have any achievements, trophies or collectibles in game already, they should atleast make a DLC providing them. If they are included however, they could make very hard and very fun achievements as part of a DLC. It should include A LOT of great achievements, trophies or collectibles to make the DLC worth it. I'm not sure if this DLC should cost anything, but it should never be too expansive.
Movie DLC: Now this one could be interesting. The next C&C may be able to implent its own movie theater, and they could make some of their own movies as a DLC so people can watch them ingame. Since its Generals 2, they should be focussing on making Generals movies. They should never be too long however, not much longer than 30 min or so, or it'll get dragged on too long and it will be too expensive. This DLC should ofcourse cost some money, IF they can copyright it so people can't just watch it on Youtube.
RED: Um... no. Just no. If I want to play online chess, I'll open up an online chess game in a different window. All computers have chess pre-installed (I'm pretty sure). And it's simply too cheesy to make a C&C chess game.
TEAL: I like this idea, but I think it should just come with the game. Now, updates that involve new achievements would be very nice.
GREEN: You mean like with Assassin's Creed: Embers? I don't see why not.
Yeah on second thought the chess idea isn't so great. Maybe a RISK type of game instead? One that takes place in the Generals universe, they could make one that Tiberium Wars has.
If the max amount of players is 12, you could have 4 players in EU, 4 in GLA and the other 4 in the 3rd unknown faction. Sounds like it could be fun, your objective will be to be the first to dominate the entire world.
One thing about the DLC is that I don't want to pay $10 to $20 just for 4 new maps. I want the DLC to have good enough content for a price that is worth it.
