I must be missing something here, I think its still possible even with what I stated above: a unique faction means they can come up with a Mammoth Tank of their own or a counterpart against it? Skin means it'll be a straightforward copypaste from one of the three so that means you'll still have a Mammoth Tank on a 'different nation.'

I just wish that they would make a clear distinction if these so called new factions will actually contain new units, a variant of the existing factions or just a mere skin for the existing factions :/

Hunters are OP, but the Cobras disagree

I don't think they are sure about that. They are focusing on the game right now and not thinking about DLC.
One thing we should do tough is make clear what WE want and that is not a gazillion new unbalanced factions. I like the OP's list.

Some ideas on DLC's most of which I already writed in threads like Generals 2 community wishes, opinions, concepts or feedback to make worthy successor...http://www.commandandconquer.com/for...l=1#post100583

    Game modes DLC's

Hold the Line - just Art of Defense by different name where you can with your ally protect agains waves of enemies, there is also possibility to create not only SP-MP for deffenders but also for attackers where is goal of defenders protect end of map from reaching by enemy forces and goal of attackers is reach end of map with units of complete value for example 20 000$. So similary to USA mission in Generals campaign where you have with Comanches stop GLA convoy from reaching another end of map with difference that both sides or alliances will have bases on opposite ends of map.

World Conquest - another mod that can by played in SP and MP where each map present one country and battle end where one player or alliance of players playing MP conquer all available countries or regions.
This can work similar to Emperor Battle for Dune campaign where with dependency on how much land you own around currently engaged country will define choices of starting possition and reinforcements.
There is also possibility that after conquering some key countries will be accesed (only for this game mod) special stuff, like advanced defense after conquering France, some tank upgrade for better cannons after conquering Germany etc...

    Graphics

Blood - simple form to avoid law restrictions in some countries and add blood for player who miss this liquid in C&C to pay for small and cheap addon to add more gore into game.

Hi-res textures - although in moment of Generals 2 release will have certainly top of the line graphics this change over time and also there are some players with plenty power to spare even today, so this pack pay his creation over time if game will be widely popular and played similary long as predecessor.

    UI

Jukebox - that allow not only choose which music you want play from your own mp3 collection, but also what music will be played during peace and what during battle.

UI customizator - in game utility integrated into settings that allow unsatisfied players delicate changes in in game UI to match their preferences like choosing between bottom bar or sidebar, change colors, time between messages to be erased and so on without need modding game that affect compactibility in MP...

    Modding

Worldbuilder - if there is no other way to add mod creating tools into game I preffer to be a DLC instead of not be available at all. Even when this DLC will be released half year or year after game release is still worth of buyng for plenty people that want try create own game mechanics, units, campaigns etc...

Oh, no, no no no. Worldbuider, as far as I know, has always been free; I'd like it to stay that way.

    Everything else is fine.

How many DLC selling model supporting C&Cs were before?

As for now it doesn't seem realistic to me that they release Worldbuilder for free and then will developers compete on selling little addons with modding comunity which allow get new stuff for free.
When they release Worldbuilder with one year delay then maybe can be free, otherwise I don't see much sense in DLC selling model. But then they can release Worldbuilder with delay as DLC, earn additional money that cover WB development and also get time to earn money with DLC's which can be created in WB.

Well, if WorldBuilder is not going to be free, there's absolutely no point in creating one.

Also, I was watching the PAX panel with Epic games, and I really agreed with one point they made about DLC. They said if you're going to make DLC, make it crazy, make it unique. Just don't make DLC that is content that was cut from the original game.

Non-free DLCs are unacceptable. No one would want a C&C game with DLC as extra fees.

I mean if RA3 Uprising would have been a non-free DLC to RA3, then the download would be much less than the full version and should be integrated with RA3.

    i say:

    NO TO C&C DLC

ea you do not have to scrape the can for every game you make you will ruin the C & C series if you use DLC

the fact that this tread exists at all means that i will intentialy not buy the game for a whole year after its release becuase i dont belive that ea can resist the temptation to not make dlc for one of the best series ever

That year is to ensure i dont buy the title then get backside feeked by ea dlc

    We need skinpacks:

Live well. It is the greatest revenge... And be the salt and light of Earth.
