I just got C&C3 on steam from a friend for X-Mas and have been playing it a little bit. Its a great game, but I am having trouble starting it up sometimes.
After I alt-tab (the game commences to shut down forcefully at this point) and try to pull the game back up, all I get is a black screen. This also happens if I shut the game down legitimately, without Alt-F4, tabbing, or using the System Manager thing to shut the process off. Is there any fix to this? I want to be able to play the game without having to restart my computer each time I shut down for awhile to take a break.

I don't remember how to. I don't think its my video card or anything since the game itself runs fine. I think its the splash screen messing me up. I've tried deleting it/renaming it but since I installed it with steam, the files are in a place I can't find quite at the moment.

just go onto run and type dxdiag, copy and paste everything
