For RA have you tried the other patches? Generals try creating the custom options.ini file posted above

I would suggest running full anti-virus/spyware scans, also check that the DVD runs on another computer too

    The problem is;
I load the game fine, I can hear audio perfectly but videos or any animations do not work.

However, if I click off RA2 and back on then I can see the current image of the video, but it doesn't play. For example, the start menu, it loads up with no icons. But if I click off and back on, I can see the icons. If I click an icon nothing happens, but if I click on and off I get the next set of options such as difficulty etc.

It only seems to refresh the display once I click on and off.

Can someone please help me? I am desperate to play
Same again, please post your PC specs, Please note that I myself get very odd things happening with both TS & RA2, like slow gameplay (only seems to happen on Win7)

To All: It may well be a good idea to try WinXP mode (the download xp mode, not the compatibility mode: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/vir.../download.aspx) for windows 7 as this will eliminate problems associated with the new admin features of vista/7

That's the game asking for a CD. You need to run it through the launcher or it won't work, since the launcher starts it in NoCD mode.

If you install the 3.03 patch from my installer you get an actual NoCD-patched RA95.exe that always works.

You could try the manual cleanup, described here:
    http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/...lling_tfd.html
Then you know exactly what patches you install.

    TLDR: read underlined

    specs:
    HP pavilion g4 notebook
Windows 7 home premium (service pack 1) 64bit
processor: AMD radeon HD graphics 1.5 quad core
    8GB RAM

    so far I've:
--disabled account control (At least I think I did)
--downloaded directX SDK 2008 and enabled "hardware acceleration"
    --restarted computer
    --ran setup.exe as administrator
--downloaded and installed unofficial 1.03 patch.
--checked to make sure the games are using one core, but I didn't need to change it to one core, it was already only using core 0. (checked on RA2 YR)

    (seems to) work fine:
--Generals ZH (didn't test generals alone)
    --Renegade

C&C and RA1 get the discoloration, But I'm not too worried about that because the solutions look complicated :P

Everything else gets a "____ Main Executable has stopped working" or "internal error" error after (varied)minutes of gameplay.
Can't seem to shake that error, any more patches recommended?

My brother installed TFD on his laptop (similar to mine, but dual core), and gets identical errors with each game.
The game I'd most like to get working is just RA2 YR to play LAN with my bro.

C&C1: get this from Nyerguds, it should correct any problems also make sure you leave the run game config option ticked, you will then be able to set the game resolution to one which your graphics card supports:
    http://www.moddb.com/mods/command-co...vision-3-patch

RA1 all you should need is hifi's dll file:
    http://hifi.iki.fi/cnc-ddraw/#download
(be sure to set the game resolution in ddraw.ini after first run)

TS/RA2 & RA2 YR you may need to set to win98 compat mode, also the 1.03 patch should have placed a zip file in the RA2 folder which contains a 64bit launcher for RA2 YR which you could also try

So I've replaced gamemd.exe with the one in the zip file (they were the same size so I hope I did that correctly).

then I set gamemd.exe to use win98 compatibility mode.

now YR seems to run longer, but still crashes eventually

This is the error I get with YR and RA2:
    errrrrrr.png
RA2 actually gets a "internal error" message more often than that error.

also, I figued out my brother's YR doesn't even start up, it goes straight the "main exe has stopped working" error pictured above.

PS: thanks a bunch for helping us noobs.

Hmm... are you running the actual game executable in administrator mode? I don't think you can truly and completely disable account control in Windows 7.

i am experiencing a problem when i go to uninstall and reinstall the games in tfd, i always recieve this error code
    Error Code: -5004 : 0x8007007e
    Error Information:

    PGUID:66D6F3BD-CA23-41A4-9FA3-96B26B32528C
    $11.0.0.28844
    @Windows Service Pack 2 (6002) IE 7.0.6002.18005

Thats part of the problem... clicking run as administrator will just give a short "blue-loading-circle-thing" (official name). Then it proceeds to do nothing.... nothing at all... double clicking the game, running it with troubleshoot compatibility, etc. can't get the .exe to run alone. It has to be started from TFD shortcut then chosen from the menu.

The main shortcut is being run as administrator.

    EDIT: OMG

I've been clicking gamemd.exe the whole time... You apparently mean to say the RA2MD.exe. Never even bothered checking the rest of the folder after finding the "right one".

EDIT2: There's also a YURI.exe that seems to do the same thing...

The main post really needs to say something about this, I remember seeing gamemd.exe on one of the posts and figured thats the main executable. For now, some more trial and error with settings and stuff; thanks again for helping.

EDIT3: Tried each exe with administrator mode on, and still getting the error[3 posts up]

Ah yes, the game*.exe files in RA2 are the real executables, but they can't be run directly; you HAVE to run them through the launcher exes (RA2*.exe).
