Music: What do you want to hear?

    Subject:
The original Generals had an excellent soundtrack. My question is, will we be hearing any of the old music?

    Description:
As many of us may agree, the soundtrack from Generals was filled with excellent, exciting, and exhilarating music. It was faction-specific (each faction had its own solitary style and track), and, in my opinion, I think it added significantly to and gave a unique atmosphere of all of the factions.

Since then, I think that each C&C game has had that quality of music to it, the only exception being C&C 3 (a very good track, I might add; it simply doesn't have very specific music, the only factional difference being the victory music). I trust quite verily that BWV will uphold this.

So, my question is this: Will we hear the same (or similar) music? Will they take some of the best music from the original soundtrack, remix it a little, and place it among a newer soundtrack (I like this option the best)?
There likely wont be an answer to this for a while, so this is merely something to ponder.

    Positive Effect:
-A little less work for the musicians.
-Music that we remember enjoying resurrected could rejuvenate fans and make them want to buy the game just that much more (I know someone who immediately wanted Skyrim just when he heard the classic Elder Scrolls theme)

    Negative Effect:
-Potentially less option for new, fresh, and cool music.

    Media:
Here are some song from Generals:

I'd say my answer is option 3, but that means only a few old songs and more new ones. I'd always love some badass remixes of old songs, but for new games its also important to have new songs.

So I'd say bring in a lot of new music, but its okay to remix some old ones. Games have to move on with stuff like lore, so this includes music

New version of the Generals theme song (aka USA 06) would be awesome. I voted for third option.

I found this awesome piece from YouTube, and I think it would fit Generals 2 darn well. Too bad though it is already in Battlefield 2, and probably therefore can't be used for G2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z96g9...el_video_title

I want completely new music. Don't get me wrong, I think the G1 music is really good. I just don't want the same thing in a new game.

Some C&C4 music should be in this Generals 2 game because they fit and sounded like it. Sure I would want to keep some of the old Generals music and bring in more of the new ones. IMO, I am to believe the new Generals 2 soundtrack will be once again mostly orchestral.

If you had other CnC games installed it would be awesome if the game picked up on that and imported soundtracks. Game also needs a tab in the options ot choose what tracks are played and when (like certain tracks fading in during battle and fading out after)

I will play this during overlord rushes!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nFKPVfDrgU&

I believe I said I would prefer that there be a few remixes of Generals 1 themes - USA 06 I think is basically THE C&C Generals theme - and maybe a returning classic or two, like Warfare/Target, In Trouble, Twin Cannon, and Drok, and from there awesome music for each faction.
