C&C Red Alert 3 Steam disconnection notification!

I brought this game on Steam last weekend for $5, i have yet to be able to play the game online.
When i first attempted to play it came up saying the key will be connected to my ea account, after that whenever i attempt to sign on line it asked me to accept terms and conditions. i click accept and then it pops up with a message saying " DISCONNECTION NOTIFICATION" a system error occurred. try again later. if problem persists contact customer support.

So i contacted support but before i did this i open up all ports, turn off all firewalls and virus programs, used DMZ. Turned off UAC, and even tried removing game cleaning registry and reinstalling game. Try to play online same error. So i end up contacting support, they go through the routine off asking me to do things i already tried, after they ask me to run a OU trace that check for any problems with connection to the server, as per customer support they found no problems and said to use DMZ to open up all ports and if i did not know how i could contact my ISP, but as i said before i already did all this. my friend brought the game same day as me and has same ISP with same MODEM. but he can still sign online. Has there been anyone on here who has had same problem who know off a fix? because customer support was not helpful at all. Thanks for any help that anyone can provide.

(UPDATE) After i posted this thread, i seen the sub forum for support, if a moderator could please move this post to proper section i would greatly appreciate it. thanks

I have the same problem. Opening the ports for me doesnt work as well. Are you using the Steam distributed version or the original? Because I am using the Steam version.

this is a steam issue. Only problem is their support is less helpful than EA's support.

I can not help with a steam issue, except to link you to their site:

Use Torrents? I know what you have downloaded. click my sig for proof

Yes mine is the steam version. I cant see how steam can offer better support then the developers of the game itself . Even so on the steam support page it asks, if the problem is with the steam services, or the game its self, which in this case is the game. When there is a problem with the game, don't steam route you to the 3rd party developers support page?

in General, hence why the poor service from steam support.
