Commando units

I do apologize in advance if there was a thread about this.

Commando units what is your take on them? what do you think we can expect? abilities? upgrades?

Of course, I can expect Jarmen Kell to pollute the battlefield. But, just curious on to know about the EU and lets just say China is the third faction. I almost never used Black Lotus. Jarmen kell and Burton were just more useful in my opinion. Maybe if Lotus got some weapons it can even the playing field.

I've heard great ideas on upgrades and unit ideas from various people and just want to hear some feedback.

-Jahrmen Kell that is able with special ability used on killing crew out of tanks to be also able kill garrisoned infantry like in my mod.

-Colonel Burton or his derivate able placing timebomb on ground to make traps on vehicles and infantry groups.

-Black lotus or some spy equivalent can use rope too. It's a thief anyway.

I just wonder if Jarmen Kell is even alive storywise. Because during one of the Chinese Missions in ZH, you have to stop the GLA from reaching the other part of the map. The advisor warns you that he appears and is stealthed so you have to find and kill him in order to save the mission.

The question is what is the EU Commando going to be? Maybe a British one? So I doubt that Colonel Burton would come back if the USA doesn't return in the game.

First off, Black Lotus was a damned powerful commando without weapons. She could capture buildings faster than any other unit. When I played China I rarely purchased capture building upgrade for infantry as I could just wait for Lotus when I would really need the extra money from oil.

Jarmen Kell and Burton could not detect her alone but she could detect them. She can steal money from supply centers, this was almost OP imo. You can win the game alone with lotus, as I have lost many a game because of her.

I'd wager the EU commando will a James Bond type character, as the English are known for their espionage. He'd probably be equipped with a silenced pistol/sniper, and explosives.

GLA and China will probably have the same commandos.

I want commando squads, not those ridiculous commandos. As the other guy said, intelligent use of that single unit was a game winner. I would prefer British SAS, GLA Insurgents, Chinese Paras or something of the sort.

I want Colonel Burton in an Exoskeleton. Same stats, same abilities and same game play, but it would finally explain how he carries that Gatling gun + battery + ammunition...

EU's commando could be a lot stealthier than Burton was in Generals. He could use some silenced assault / sniper rifle, thus being effective against infantry. Vehicles could be problematic. C4 against structures and vehicles if he can get close enough.

Perhaps similar stealthness to Pathfinder. Stealthed while shooting or standing still, visible while moving.

How about having some new commandoes with the old ones, so we dont just get old units. Or am I just hoping for too much?

Jarmen Kell- Of coarse hes alive! Hes the Legendary Sniper! He must come back with new abillities.
Colonel Burton- Not sure if hes coming back. However, the EU may probably have a different Commando with the same abilities as Col. Burton.
Black Lotus- Lets just hope China'll be back, eh?

Jarmen kell should given anti tank land mines instead of that vech. killing, wich was really OP if you count it back in money. Jarmen kell can easy take out one 2000 cost overlord with one shot from far out of the range of them. Even tank killer burton could not deal that awesome amount of damage :P.
