That is if you are filty rich anyways...

If your opponent is an idiot. An Overlord without ECM tanks is just Raptor/Rocket buggy/Missile defender food.

I'd also add that Paladins can be upgraded also, with repair/predator/recon drones so they're just as adaptable. And with their point laser defense most of their (tanks in general) primary counters are nearly useless.

Don't forget the hellfire drone. .

Out of those drones, the ones that attack don't add enough firepower to alter the equation in relation to the counters I mentioned, and of those counters, all were considered with the PDL in mind, as well as typical support units, like snipers, avengers, etc.

    EDIT:
Actually, I think that in terms of sheer firepower and counter changes, (Like the battledrone adding some limited anti-infantry capability), the drones aren't really even in the same class as the propaganda tower or gatling cannon. The former is a superior healing across a wide area, and the latter comes close to nullifying the two most effective counters to the OL, rocket troops and air.

If I can capture enough to either make or steal Overlords, I love mixing bunkered and towered Overloads with a whole bunch of Missile Defenders and Snipers.

Then just let them waltz into a base and do as much damage as possible.

And a lot of damage they will do.

(Of course, this assumes I'm playing US.)

    A quick rundown of others:

C&C: Tiberian Dawn -> GDI fighting for the preserving of EU and Africa, leadership in Hammerfest.

C&C: Tiberian Sun -> GDI fighting all over the globe, led by people in Hammerfest and GDCC Philadelphia (I am not sure with the GDCC sign).

C&C: Tiberian junk -> Never played it, I don't consider it an C&C, move along.

C&C: Red Alert -> EU Allies of Germany, France and GB.

C&C: Red Alert 3 -> Allies and while the Americans are part of them (as in RA 2), the commander himself is from England, as he takes orders from an Englishman, he starts in England and has no problems with killing USA president.
Not that it REALLY matters but just putting it out there:

Tiberian Dawn: After TS came out it's heavily implied General Soloman was the player's commander during TD, and I'm pretty sure he's american.

Tiberian Sun: The player's commander is Commander McNeil, again pretty darn sure he's american.

Tiberium Wars: The player's character COULD be of any nationality, but the commander receives his/her orders from the North Eastern US Blue Zone from exclusively american personnel, so again.. more than likely american.

You got the RA games right though.

I usually had my Paladins/Avengers/Microwaves tanks in control group 1 and a humvee/ambulance group in control group 2 and then micro them separately, because otherwise the humvee units tended to run off and get killed before the tanks go there. I'd Usually have snipers and rangers in the humvees to kill any massed enemy infantry, and to dismount and capture Command centers and GLA supply centers once they were shut down (unable to be sold) by the microwave tanks. Also if you micro the humvees to stay behind the tanks they will not die as fast as the massed paladins, so you can just keep pumping out paladins.

I Usually did this late game because once you have a lot of money, spamming Paladins is a lot easier then making infantry in the right proportions, making the right number of humvees, and then having all the infantry get in the right humvee in batches... Easier to spam 30 Paladin tanks/avengers and then make a small group of 3-5 humvees/ambulances. With F-22's or Auroras on stand by in case they try using Chinese tube artillery.

Plus almost nobody played as regular USA on Generals multi player, and the ones who did usually just did rocket-vee spam the entire game. Using Paladins was kind of different, and the PLD made lots of GLA players rage. lol

Sounds cool. Once the discussion drifts into unit management tactics, the different battlefield permutations are endless, and even a single Red Guard can suddenly take on a new indispensable quality like a mass of Paladin tanks. I could try and say a similarly skilled GLA player could have a comparable amount of money, and that with it, a far more powerful grouping of Scorpion tanks, but I think we both know the circular nature of that discussion about a RTS game... .

I had no idea we played as Soloman in the first game.
    Agree on him being American.

But Mc´Neil was grown in Nod facility during the first war, liberated by Soloman. That means he cannot be American, since we nevr fought Nod in America in the first game. Also, after all those years, this was the first time I read about him being a mutant.
