January 2012 Update:



Today, as all can see we have a major
mod update with the overall progress of production for The Colony.
Over the past weeks we've been going through major development of a
whole new mechanic and structures, in addition ideas are being
created constantly for new buildings of The Colony and Dream Army.
There will be a deadline for all main buildings for each “new
faction,” to be set to March 31, 2012.


First off we want to explain the main
concept of this new mechanic that we are developing that has never
been seen in RTS games before. This new game play mechanic offers a
whole new way of playing Command and Conquer; picture a faction with
rush tactics and an army that relies heavily on one central point of
a certain structure. Expanding a base through this method will give
the player the ability to be creative with building a base. Finally
as we go through the factions and work on cleaning them up, we hope
to full fill different and balanced mechanics for all factions. Below
is word diagram of how the mechanic works.

Build tentacle wall hub from
Queen.
Harvester takes tiberium to the
refinery, which is attached to the Queen.
The Refinery spouts spores, which
are direct currency to building a base, which are taken to tentacle
hubs.
Hub then uses spores to cast
structures.
Tentacles will offer the ability
to put defense structures on the hubs itself, giving players a
defensive capably that is unique to their play.

Secondly, as team leader I would like
to give proper credit to all members for being dedicated and working
extremely hard on production.


To start with here is the Colony
barracks type building that will be able to produce small units
capable of infecting infantry, to addition this organic structure
will be able to tier up by itself via upgrade unlocking new units and
add-ons, as well as the others.

“Vulture,” which is fast transport capable of moving vehicles and
infantry all over the world.

Finally there is one last concept that
is unknown...



The graphics are still to come and
there is still some tidying up to do, but we are rapidly on our way
to finishing up the primary structures for all three new factions.
