    Gemini Wars

    Ok guys,

at some other thread i already talked about this game, but it ended up kinda unnoticed, as it was offtopic, therefore i am creating this topic.

Basically i would like to get this game into your attention, as fellow RTS gamers, in my quest to help the indie devs of Gemini Wars, and at the same time, to recruit some potential future co-players for multiplayer clashes.

Few words about the game, it is a space RTS game, so everyone, who hates space-based game with the passion or out of principle, can stop reading now. The game is going to be probably macro-oriented, as you can play in several star-systems at once, basically on multiple "maps". If you are aware of Sins of a Solar Empire, this game is going to be in some ways similar, but it will lack the 4X things - diplomacy and, extended research and empire management. If anyone recalls here old game called Conquest Frontier Wars from circa 2001, i suppose, it will be even more similar to that game than SoaSE.

Finally for people, who are into singleplayer campaigns, the game is going to have one, alongside some nice rendered video sequences between missions. Personally, this is not my cup of tea, unless the game is called Homeworld, but maybe the authors will surprise me. For less demanding people like me, when it comes to singleplayer story though, those, who liked campaigns/stories of the recent CnC games, i suppose there should be no problem. We shall see.

The game is about to be released on 20th April this year, so for those, who are interested, it might be IMHO nice filler, until Gen 2 comes out. It can be available via digital distribution even sooner, but this has not been disclosed yet.

    The official site is www.geminiwars.com

    Some gameplay vids:

    Thanks for your attention.

70 views and nobody has nothing to say? :-)

I suppose its not the game for average CnC fan then.

Do not know about price, it was not revealed or perhaps even decided yet. I suppose it will be cheaper than AAA titles like StarCraft and such, this being indie game. Only my assumption though.
There is not demo yet, and whether there will be one, is actually under consideration by the developers on their forums. They seem to be quite undecided what to do so far, as they are bit afraid of hurting sales, if the demo wont be done properly. Apparently SupCom2 demo was bit **** and did not help the sales of the full game much. I recommended them to do pure skirmish/multiplayer demo, like old Conquest Frontier Wars had. So we shall see...

For anyone remotely interested, here is a short preview of the Gemini Wars from Angry Joe, including cool gameplay video.

    http://angryjoeshow.com/2012/05/gemi...eplay-preview/

You can preorder the game now, with a 10 percent discount up until 8th June, when the game is supposed to be released. As a fan of RTS games and sci-fi genre, i can only recommend it, i played the closed beta and IMHO, its a very decent game. Definitely deserves attention and its authors some support.

EDIT: There was a new gameplay trailer released today as well:
