Everything you've said simply isn't feasible. A) Actors/WW devs for the FMVs are noticably older (yes, even Kane), and are doing other things. Last I heard, Eric Gooch (Seth) was at Midway or perhaps some subsidiary of Activision.

The main problem in a TD "remake" is defining what it "should" be. In terms of modern gameplay, TD on it's own is very shallow. EA would essentially have a catch-22 on their hands between the purists who want a 1:1 clone of TD sans graphics verses the modern RTS crowd. Any EA produced remake is going to **** one side off more than the other, and surely doesn't have enough communal following to warrant AAA release status.

Second, I wouldn't purchase an AAA remake of TD on release, simply because I've already experienced it. It's so, so hard to recapture magic in the bottle a second time. I could certainly do a $30 game or even if it was like a $25 dlc for Generals 2 or the next Tiberian game. However, at the price point, it's too much effort and work for too little. I would certainly be more enticed for a 're-envisioning' of the TD world (think how Doom3 re-imagined Doom 1), but then I fear you're going to see that go over about as well as CnC4 with the purists.

Besides, you've got several mod teams out there that are doing it for free and don't have EA's/paid developer stigma (because everyone loves modders). You've got Tiberian Dawn Redux for Generals, and (hopefully) Tiberian Dawn for CnC 3.

Correction.. TD being remade could be done very cost effectively without tampering too much with the core of what made it such a success. You could go about it in several ways with the FMV's by either remastering them into HD quality or reshooting some of the footage that needs to be altered to close out any loopholes that EA doesn't plan to explore like the RA to TD stuff more or less.

Missions and what not are going to be tricky here as some missions didn't flow well back then and some did very well. Bringing back the Map selection before mission will be another thing that would take sometime to mimic depending on what technology would be used for a TD remake.

Modders have done a good job at remaking TD don't get me wrong here. Some companies have gone back into their vault of games and remade some games that were classics and I think TD is due for it. You can make TD fresher with a remake and still keep new and old players coming back if it's executed well enough.
