Does ayone think that Yuri and the Nazis are similar?

I've recently been playing as Yuri a lot in skirmish mode on RA2. I'm also a big WW2 fan and I've noticed several similaraties between Yuri and the Third Reich.

1.) The slave miner: Slaves harvesting resources? Sounds familiar with the labor/concentration camps Hitler used in WW2.

2.) UFOs: Okay the first thing that comes to our minds with these floating Disks is probably Aliens. Well, the Germans were experimenting with A LOT of vehicles, weapons, and aircraft. I've even heard rumors they actually tried making an aircraft that resembles a UFO. Even if they didn't there is still myths of "Nazi UFOs" in popular historical fiction.

3.) Lasher Tanks: Although they may not be the super heavy metal monsters faced in WW2 I think they resemble the German TigerIII and Panzer tank series.

4.) Boomers: They rule the seas and are a NIGHTMARE when used against you properly. These remind me greatly of the German U-boats for the fact that they are so deadly and make up most of Yuri's naval force.

5.) Yuri has a German accent. (don't be offended!!!)

So yeah these are just some things I've noticed and thought would be fun to share.

Point 2: Didn't you know? They will be coming in UFOs and giant space zeppelins soon.

The actor for Yuri is Udo Kier, born German... in 1944. The plot thickens...
"Dat vallen streckt tot eer, en onverwelckbren lof:
En liever d’ eerste Vorst in eenigh laeger hof,
Dan in ’t gezalight licht de tweede, of noch een minder
Zoo troost ick my de kans, en vrees nu leet noch hinder."

Yes very much so, also the Nazi's experimented with Mind control a little bit. So even more similarities there.

Isn't RA supposed to have some wacky technology, so why not give Yuri the UFO. The other factions have some wacky weapons and they work out fine.

I know that. But the no matter how wacky the tech nah be,it all still makes sense. Teleporting for the allies. The allies in reality relied on mobility. Tesla for the soviets. Tesla based tehcnology was invented by the Russians.

Not to mention the almost occult feel of Yuri's designs and units. Also, lots of bio-warfare weaponry, such as the Genetic Mutator, the Virus, the Brute and the Chaos Drone.

So yes, I do find that Yuri is very similar to pop Nazi stereotypes, just like how the EotRS are very anime-ish, and the Soviets are very exaggerated.

Also, Udo Kier, Yuri's actor, is playing the Nazi colonel in Iron Sky.

Yuri shall enslave the Untermensch with his Psychisch-Blitzkreig!

I remember hearing in a interview in the past where the developers of the RA games looked back at old failed military experiments like the Soviet Tesla Coil based off of Nikola Tesla's design and the Chronoshpere based off of the Manhattan Project. So why not use some old Nazi technology that didn't work in our world and have them be apart of the fictional RA universe where it could work. Say the Floating Disk, Psychic Warfare, and who knows what else.

It's highly possible that German has inspired Westwood in many of Yuri's army. After all, the war was supposed to be between Allies and Germany, not Soviet
