Should the player's country be shown before match?

Also, if the game asks the player ''Do you really want to reveal your nationality in the game? If you accept, people will be able to see what your nationality is. If you choose yes, you are still able to switch to no if you change your mind'', then perhaps its not against the game's TOS, but I'm not sure how that works.

It was shown in TW so it's definitely not against the ToS.

At the risk of having to chastise myself for being off topic what do you mean by this? You can ignore me (I'm rather used to that) or pm me if you don't want to get into it here but I don't play HoN so I have no idea what you are talking about.

Voted no in the poll. I think "where are you from?" is simply a nice way to open a conversation and not a big deal otherwise, at least for me because it really does not matter to be to be honest.

In HoN if you're from either country you are in for 24/7 flame. Even HoN devs, sgms and gms are talking trash about people from these countries. It's super annoying even if you're just a bystander in a match. Also if someone is playing bad in HoN he is immediately called russian (on EU servers) or brazilian (US servers)

Besides that situation you're describing hasn't been a problem in CnC as far as I know. But perhaps that's because pretty much everyone playing was German...

i thought this thread was about the 'country' in the game that the player chose upon reading the title. like in auto- or lobbymatches, to hide which faction the player has chosen. so that the enemy doesnt execute certain i-win-tactics effective against single factions.

concerning this poll, i gotta say reallife nations are irrelevant for multiplayer. concerning my objection above, i'd like the option to 'hide' the faction you select in order to make scouting more important in matches.
