    Unhappy Internet CO-OP not working for 2 players on the same LAN.

    Hey guys!

    EA Support couldn't help me and redirected me here so...

    I am facing a very very very frustrating stage at the CO-OP part of Red Alert 3.

    Because me and my friend were tired of unlimited LAN plays versus brutal computers (Yes, Networking works, we can play together! We select our IP in options > network, send delay is ticked and we have a custom port number 22901 which is open on all devices) and were tired of that I Decided to get another serial for RA3 and create him an account to play CO-OP at my home. Unfortunately, after trying various configurations we had to quit our happieness of playing missions together. After I created a new campaign, clicked CO-OP, invited my friend, went together to the lobby, let him click "ready", then I hit "Start" and a big surprise came up...

    "Connections are in progress, or connection problem detected. Please wait for the connection to finish, or kick the player
    who has the connection problem. Connection in progress: 1-2"

    then after waiting, hitting start:

    "Connections are in progress, or connection problem detected. Please wait for the connection to finish, or kick the player
    who has the connection problem. Connection FAILED"

    Well we two were connected to my WiFi router, I say it again: WE CAN PLAY LAN together! No matter if he hosts, or I host. It just works.
    Also: We are really close friends and have bought 2 the same laptop. Once his HDD did crash, so we bought a new HDD and I ghosted all my data to his laptop and set up a new user account for him, deleting my personal data etc.. (Yes I am a Computer specialist, Professional, also a good Programmer, also a pro in networking, setting up home networks, windows and linux, configuring PC hardware and many other stuff).
    So our Red Alert 3's are v1.12 and well, no mods, just stock things, self made maps are in the roaming/red alert 3/ directory but they shouldn't affect the CO-OP play, right? Anyway I made sure the serials are different, don't try to ask if we are using crack - ofcourse NO, we have both legal bought serials. I bought mine on 2008-10-26 (RA 3 release date, Europe) from the game store and I bought him a serial 2 days ago to get an account for him. So our RA3's have different serials and user profiles. The options networking tab is configured the same on both PC's, the only difference is the IP's (192.168.1.6 / 192.168.1.10 OR for lan play we use crossover: 169.254.136.136 / 169.254.142.144 ), the custom port has been already mentioned (22901) and we both have ticked "send delay".
    I also tried making a bridge for his laptop. The way I set it up was that I got my crossover cable, plugged our PC's together on and I switched all his network interfaces off except the ethernet connection of. then I switched off all my interfaces and turned on the WiFi and ethernet interface. Then I bridged them so our PC's were directly connected and my pc provided internet for the second pc. To make it more clear: Our pc's were directly connected TOGETHER, and BOTH had a active internet connection. When we were connected to wifi we also made sure to turn off all other interfaces. But no joy the connection problem persists.

    When he hosts a game, when we click start it does start however I get the disconnected screen, where it conts down (however well, it's freezed at 30 for both) and his Red alert 3 becomes just a black screen with the mission playing, after one of us terminates RA3 with task manager it end. Then the frustration starts all over again.. I can play online with other people, I can host and join games, I can eve play CO-OP, I just can't play with my lovely friend.. C'mon there has to be a way to fix this? Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.

    Do not say we need to play when I'm at my home and he is at his home! It's not a solution to the problem and I consider it totally off-topic!

    Also All our firewalls are disabled, windows defender too, we have no AntiVirus software installed, we are performance freaks. Get the most out of nothing.. And have no problems with firewall blocks or fake virus detections.

    If anyone can reach the RA3 developers regarding this issue, a 1.13 patch would be nice.
    If they won't fix it then let them release the source code of RA3, I'll add/fix LAN CO-OP support myself if released...
