    Easter Egg Ideas

For those of you that are unaware, an Easter Egg in a video game is an object, character, etc. hidden somewhere inside the game. These Easter Eggs could be anything somewhat relating to the game, or, sometimes, games that are favorites of the developers. It is basically a "Easter Egg Hunt" for the gamer.

Here are some good examples of different kinds of Easter Eggs:

Moving on, I am pretty sure that this topic has been brought up before; however, now that the new game has been announced, I thought it would be a good idea to:

A: Discus adding Easter Eggs to the new Generals game, hidden all over.

B: Discus some good ideas for Easter Eggs.

I personally think that it would be good to add Easter Eggs into the game, hidden in different and special ways. If you have played the older games, you will notice that there have been destroyed units and buildings from the past games hidden among the other wreckage (specifically in C&C3). I think that occurrences like this and some other Easter Eggs, including as funny ones, should be hidden in Generals 2.

However, I don't think that they should be too frequent, and I think a small few of them shouldn't too easy to find. They also shouldn't be too hard to find, because that could distract someone from the game.

I'd say minor things like statues, plaques, buildings, advertisements, etc. would be a nice thing to add.

As for what I'd like to see specifically, here's a list:

-Ruins of vehicles and buildings from Generals/Zero Hour
-Memorial Statues from the war in Generals/Zero Hour
-"Emperor Qin's Terracotta Division" (A huge row of old Chinese units, possibly encased in mud or clay.)
-Some buildings from the Dune series.
-A C&C Community Tribute on an advertisement billboard -- maybe to CBCPT?
-An Office complex with the EA or Westwood logo on it (like in RA3, except not the headquarters).
-A tribute to Ahmed the Dead Terrorist (MAYBE)
-A giant Troll Face on one of the maps.
-A hidden building, where, if you destroy it, a bunch of civilians with meme faces spill out.

These are just some of my ideas; what are yours?

That was my idea in an older easter egg thread

My exact same line was ''I'd like to see Kane as an easter egg with his face on WANTED posters. With the text if you read very closely ''This madman tried to poison the world with his flower crystal things''

Also, from the old easter egg thread I summed up these ones:

Old buildings of Generals 1 hidden in the map, like with Tiberian Sun that had the old buildings from Tiberian Dawn.

An aged Tanya Adams walking on the street with her granddaughter. If you attack her, she'll grab a gun and instantly kill your unit, yelling ''NOT IN THIS UNIVERSE YOU WON'T!''.

Billboards with the Bioware Victory logo on it, like Red Alert 2 had billboards with the Westwood logo.

At every flowerist (however you spell it) shop, have a table outside with Tiberium crystals on it. When your unit reaches it he'll ask ''from what universe does THAT come from???''

A very old broken Chronosphere with the remaining husks of some Red Alert and Tiberium units. Indicating someone toyed with the Chronosphere and took all those units with them.

A huge building thats promoting Call of Duty. If you destroy it your units will say something like ''good thing we got rid of that!'' or ''nobody is gonna miss anything!''

Some citizen walking on the street. And then in all sudden, a Scrin ship quickly appears and sucks him into the ship, and afterwards fly back into space with warp speed.

Some mini game hidden ingame, could be anything. Like puzzle games.

Sorry about that my good man. I haven't read that thread before so maybe we just had the same idea.

    EDIT:

Okay here are some of my other ideas:
-Input the Konami Code in the main menu screen and the shell map will show the greatest battles featured in Battlecast.
-Type in "Westwood" during gameplay to play classic CnC music.
-Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect references in some of the Campaign missions.
-Some secret unit quotes dissing the Starcraft franchise that could only be unlocked if you finished the campaign in certain ammounts.
-Some Nod graffiti on some of the buildings.
-A map dedicated to the phrase "Kane Lives!"
-A passerby wearing a GDI or a Nod uniform in some of the cutscenes.

    How about this easter egg:

In every mission, there's a small fragment from an old time machine (the Red Alert 2 one) that you can collect. Since the Generals universe is unaware of the time machine's existence, they have no idea where those fragments came from and decide to collect the blue prints aswell.

Once you collected all the broken fragments and their blue prints, you get a small cutscene where you see engineers building back the time machine. However, once they're done rebuilding it, the time machine has a malfunction and they are sended back in time to the dinosaurs.

At this point you'll get a small secret mini campaign: In the first 2 or 3 missions you'll be stuck in the dinosaur age. Your engineers will be trying to repair the time machine, while you have to battle your way trough the dinosaurs. You'll get objectives like: setting up base camps, escort the damaged time machine, defend the time machine, wipe out the dinosaurs presence in the area etc.

When you return back in time, you accidently brought back some dinosaurs with you (why can't the time machine ever work perfectly??). You'll get 2 or 3 more missions to fight the dinosaurs in the human cities. After your done with that, the goverment decides to destroy the time machine once and for all, stating that it is too dangerous in their hands and that humanity is not ready for it.

Billboards as in TS and RA2, game logos, Kane's head is some of them, Tiberium Cola advertisement, "Kassad's Ghillie Suit Sale!" and so on.

Tbh I wouldn't consider any sort of billboards or ads referencing other games an Easter Egg, per se. It's more like a tribute/homage/nod because you don't really have to go out of your way to find it.

Something similar to the BF3 DICE "thank you' Easter Egg. It could say this:

"Thanks to all those who played C&C1, Red Alert 1, Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2, Generals, C&C3 and Red Alert 3.

We'd say C&C4, but no-one played it after discovering how bad it was."
