If Generals 2 will require internet connection all the time, EA just encouriging use of cracks between original buyers on large scale, thus increasing chance that original users install for free game also for friends or sell game as they will already have serial number and game will be available on torrents, thus decreasing number of selled copies.
Anti-piracy isn't fight that EA can win with all time internet connection requirement imo...
