Never thought I'd say this, but the missiles were a bit too high-tech for me. And this is from someone who likes the Tiberian series most out of the three.

Still, this does raise an interesting possibility, given the nature of the video. Do you think Generals 2 might be returning to the cutscene nature of the early Tiberian and Red Alert games, how after each mission, there'd be a short cutscene involving units, such as Warthogs bombing Nod or Soviets executing a rebel? Hard to say how I feel about it, but it caught my interest regardless.

    I would wish so.

That thought had crossed my mind as well. I'm cautiously optimistic. But the way the audio ended really hinted that there's at least a bit more to the video. So either there's only a few seconds left, which would support the mini reward cutscene idea, or there's a lot left, which would still be a win, since I would like to see a lot of this kind of footage.

This isn't asking for much, but CIRE, can you finally give us the name of the EU attack helicopter?

The VTOL's missle launcher acts in a very high-techy way with a lot of strange "delicate-stuff-working" sounds, plus the missles seem to have a complex combustion method, not to mention the fire inside when they are launched is in nanoblue color.
Pretty much. The missile exhaust and firing mechanism look like they belong in Mass Effect, not Generals.

Different chemicals burn different colors. Also, the firing mechanism isn't that unrealistic at all.

Mr. Microwave Tank would like to have a word with you about realism.

We have microwave weapons right now. The US microwave tank isnt even in the top ten list of Generals unrealistic units...

Yeah what are those missiles running on, Butane? lol

I'm sorry but you are wrong, that firing mechanism is hopelessly complex and for no reason. The entire carriage did not seem to fold all the way into the fuselage so it still isn't stealth and thus there is no reason for heavy, expensive, unreliable, folding mechanisms to "hide" the missiles that extra few inches. It looks like it belongs in Mas Effect or transformers.

I think Viking has the right of it. Personally, I don't have an issue with the Orca (in lack of a better name) itself-I think there's only so much complaining one can do about future tech when the game is distinctly in the future (as opposed to just a few years from the present) and the original game had some pretty outrageous tech. What caught my attention in the wrong way is that the Orca seemed to be more advanced than it needed to be, both in sleakness and its missiles.

I'll readily admit that this is a nitpick, but I think it would have suited the game's 'spirit' more if it was made a bit more rugged and utilitarian. Course, the EU might be made 'shiny' to stand in contrast to the GLA, but...meh. Need something to talk about on these forums.

    I honestly don't care, realism nuts. It's a game.
