Don't forget about...
I'm sorry, it's old, but I just had to!
I like listening to these reviews that this channel makes and gotta say the ideas the came up with for other movies was funny.
Didn't watch the movie due to harsh criticism from critics and users and the movie instead got bombed at the box office.
Out of a $209 million USD budget, it only made over $63 million in box office sales domestically. The foreign areas were a little better combined at $236 million USD. (Source: BoxOfficeMojo)
This movie is perhaps one of the worst movies of 2012 since John Carter which also got bombed at the box office.

I think people are too harsh on it.
Really, is it that bad? Just think about the premise. Can such a movie be good?
Instead, it's really great as a cheesy blockbuster, really, never trying to be anything more than stupid mindless corny fun. And given that premise, the battle scenes are actually a lot more interesting and logical than the stupid chaos of Bay's Transformers.
You could aswell go to a Burger King and be dissapointed that you don't get the finest french fusion cruisine.
As silly crap, it's definetly better than anything Bay ever did. And if someone calls this movie stupid for expecting anything else, then I call that person stupid. For expecting something good from such an absurd premise.
^ That is a good point.
(This is all from guesswork and thought, I never watched Battleship)
However, most of the time, when a movie is a cheesy blockbuster, it's something to enjoy and/or laugh about due to its sheer stupidity. I know that people view it like that (you, for instance), but something gives me the impression that the developers were not aiming for that. Maybe it's the fact that they went full out on adverts, and they even made a video game about it.
It can easily be treated as a cheesy blockbuster, but my point is that if it's been made so imposing by the developers of the movie, then it's a little harder.
