At least Blizzard made those homages look stylish. Can't say the same about the Forgotten vehicles in TA.

This isn't even about being stylish or not. He just listed broad concepts. What the image is showing there is EA's using almost identical units. This isn't just another big tank with turrets and treads, but a near complete copy, right down the shape of the turrets, their position, the layout of the hull, and placement of the portals, lol.

It's so blatant that I think it's pretty funny.

Im pretty sure its all intended, I bet they are fans of WH as well.

    My quote:
'Meh, I don't really care anymore about the new games direction, with many loads of hours(make that years actually) on Tib Sun, YR, Generals, CnC3, and RA3, plus all the mods they come with, another game with the same old formula is rather redundant IMO. '

Hey EA, if you're just gonna copypaste units to TA, ditch the beta Mammoth Tank and swap it with this one

    link

Yeah its based on the Beta Mammoth tank too, but this is way 9000 times better!

Are you kidding me? While WC and SC did take inspiration from Warhammer and 40k respectively they did not feature units that are almost copy-paste from the tabletop games.

    Another example:

I mean, what the hell? Did they buy permission from Games Workshop or something? It's the same units!

let me guess, all of the units are, in fact, taken from somewhere else?

Actually Starcraft was originally supposed to be a Warhammer game, but Blizzard lost the rights over some disagreement or other with Games Workshop. IIRC Blizzard had to pay GW for copyright infringement and recently had a lawsuit to stop paying it.

So no, it wasn't overlooked in the slightest.

Can you point me at a source of this claim? I don't remember seeing it anywhere, I don't remember reading it anywhere and my attempts to look it up failed.

Also, they had the rights for Warcraft, but WG disliked it, so they erased all their logos, changed names and realeased it as their own product. Starcarft is a total rip-off, with no actual rights whatsoever.

I can try looking it up online, I first read about it in some video games magazine ~8 years ago. By now GW vs. Blizzard has achieved mythical status.
