Unhappy C&C: The First Decade; having trouble playing multi-LAN

My roomate and I just got C&C: The First Decade and keep having trouble trying to play over our network. We can create a game, get started (if we practically syncronize our every moves), but then when we get the game started, it keeps kicking us both off. We'll get a few things built, but our game doesn't last more than a few minutes. At one point, we received a pop-up that said something about 'mismatch'? Can someone please help us enjoy one of the best strategy games ever, before we just give up on multi-player?

Last I checked, "The First Decade" itself wasn't a game. So you might want to start by telling us which of the 5 games (you mentioned building, so I guess I can exclude Renegade) you're trying to play.

All the games on the disk have problems when we try a network game. We tried Generals and if one person clicks the flashing stars on the right and selects an option an error message comes up saying 'mismatch...' We've been booted off building a refinery.

My friends and I all use this patch to play LAN games, it also has some nice additions to it. It's safe too, no viruses at all.

Yeah, you best check out the Common Problems thread at the top of this forum. It has all kinds of fixes that kind of stuff.
