    Generals 2 Factions

There will be 3 factions in the game, 2 that we know of - The European Union and The Global Liberation Army. The third faction is unknown. I disagree with removing 2 of the most famous and powerful factions in the game... USA and China. It's just not right. I also don't understand why there has to be only 3 factions. Why can't there be 5? Command and Conquer: Generals Zero Hour had 12 factions, but they weren't all different, they just related to the original. Anyway, back to Generals 2. So why can't there be 5 factions? USA, China, GLA, EU and Russia. That's perfect! Why not? Not only will it satisfy the majority of the fans but it will also get rid of the faction situation and will stop everyone from complaining and arguing about it (like me). As long as we have the 3 original and favorable factions then I'm fine.

Leave a comment telling me if you agree or disagree and tell me why. If you agree with me send me a message so we can start a petition.

Additional factions will be added later through DLC.

Five factions would be completely confusing story wise but more importantly **** balance.

The only thing I really hope this has is good singleplayer, the more factions the better since they may require their own campaigns.
Live well. It is the greatest revenge... And be the salt and light of Earth.

The more factions there are; the more convoluted it will become. It's harder to tell five stories and make them connect.

Is is confirmed that there will be only 3 factions? Because I cannot find that anywhere (link me if I am wrong).

And this is based on what information?

Well there is so much factual error here. First of all There were 3 factions in Zero Hour not 12, there were however 9 playable generals and the 3 archetype factions, that is a whole different story.
The problem is the more playable featured you add, the harder it becomes to balance it. Zero Hour is the prime example. Second, the more factions you add the more time that has to be spent on actually making the game, which COULD set back the release date (I am just assuming, since no release date is known).

It is always a good idea to get a petition going for something you would like, but do consider they way you present it. If you take the time to explain why they would have to add them and present objective facts in a calm and collective manner, this can be done via a video with you explaining or a well written letter, than people are more receptive to your point of view (yes, even multi-million companies), bf you present it like: "We want USA faction, because it was in the previous game!" Then not so much. I'm just throwing it out there.

    From the main Generals page:
All-out War – Take control of three unique factions, competing for resources, building up your base of operation, and leading massive batteries of tanks, soldiers, and aircraft into battle.
However, further down it states this:
Ever-evolving Experience – Enhance your game with an expanding array of downloadable content. From maps and units to factions, campaigns, and more, the fight against terrorism is deeper than ever
From that standpoint, it's a logical conclusion that the game with ship with only three factions but more may (probably will) be added later via DLC. Let's just hope it isn't any DLC on shipped disc funny-business. It does remain to be scene if these DLC factions will be totally new factions, or additional Generals/sub-factions.

There have been so many faction related threads. I'm more interested in the DLC campaigns. I think they'll probably add 2 or 3 additional missions, and end it there.

Now that I think of it, I'm also curious about what the "and more" is supposed to mean.

And that there are not exclusive factions.. Or worse PRE-ORDER factions.

Currently I like having the EU as a new faction, gladly they kept the GLA aswell. There are already plenty of games out there that have the USA as a faction, and are completely USA based. It would be fresh to let a new nation shine. I hope they don't remove China, but we have yet to see who the 3rd faction will be.

Having 3 factions is completely fine aswell. Its much easier to balance 3 main factions for the multiplayer, I see Gen2 to become a great competive game, Just as his prequel was. They still said that there'll be new factions in the DLC, hopefully not playable in ranked and tournament matches.

I think the Tiberium universe could benefit for having more than 3 factions. Its very easy to give it to them, they could have: GDI, Nod, Scrin, Forgotten and Mutans. Those are 5 factions already.

Having more factions also likely means the campaigns of the other factions get shrimped. If they have an insane budget however, I could see them making a long badass campaign for all the factions trough.
