Why da heck aren'tthere any decent DotA styled games that aren't either Monday Night Combat (good game), or a freakin' Elves-and-orcs type fantasy setting?

I prefer the system we have, there is no need to make so much change to somthing that worked.

    My quote:
'Meh, I don't really care anymore about the new games direction, with many loads of hours(make that years actually) on Tib Sun, YR, Generals, CnC3, and RA3, plus all the mods they come with, another game with the same old formula is rather redundant IMO. '

It's not that big of a change. It's just adding something that could be fun.

That is your opinion, but I can say many others will think otherwise.

I think it would be fun, but the hero unit would be only usable for one game mode or something like that. Similar to the game-mode in 'Earth 2160,' were the objective was to kill the enemy hero.

Maybe a ranking system could be implemented for your hero aswell, with every action, kill and building destroyed will earn the hero XP. As the hero ranks up, he/she earns credits, which in turn can be used to buy armor, clothing, abilities and weapons for your hero.

I like this idea a lot. But only if the hero is playable in one game-mode, I can understand why fans wouldn't like it if the hero was playable in all.

Yes to a specific game mode (for balance reasons.

Not so much on the experience. Maybe let them earn veteran status.

I'm a big Battle for Middle Earth II fan, so I think it would work out well. Maybe you could have an option in multiplayer for people who didn't want custom heroes.

I would maybe like different subfactions, or general power trees to get different commando units though, that would be cool.
"Not with our current Economical Budget We aint. :P Lets just stick to what we have now alright?"

Sounds great, but I doubt it will happen in Gen2. Maybe another C&C game.
