RA2 LAN between Windows 7 and XP

Is it possible to play a network game with one computer running windows xp and the other computer running windows 7?

My desktop has 2 hard drives with one running xp and the other hard drive running win7 64bit. My laptop only has xp. I have successfully networked and played RA2 with both computers running windows xp. It sure would be nice though if i could play a network game with my desktop running windows 7 and my laptop running xp. Is it possible? How?

I tried to play RA2 with a friend here at home.
    he has a XP laptop i have win7 64bit.

we did not get it running.
i have basic knowledge bout lan settings from the past..

i first had to install a patch on my win7 maschine to go arround the old IPX protocoll which does not exist on win7 as it seems.
    we tried then..nothing worked.
next thing i did was deactivationg dhcp on my router to set my own ip adresses on his and on my maschine..
    nothing worked.
he was able to go into RA2 networks settings and choose from 4 cryptic Lan connections - which just were a bunch of numbers.

i only had one showing tons of zeros.

anyone knows what to set up to get my win7 maschine RA2 connecting with his WinXP maschine?

You need to place wsock32.dll (google it) in your RA2 directory. This was the vista think so it should work for win7... maybe.
