The Hunger Games was a rip off????

Okay, I've have noticed this for a long time now and just thought that this would be a good topic to talk about. Have you heard of this cult classic Japanese novel turned movie called Battle Royale? I think it was ripped off by The Hunger Games by having striking similarities like having a major government fall and being replaced by a fascist regime and keeping the citizens in line by forcing teenagers to compete in a competition that requires them to kill each other.

When I searched this question in Google, there's over 2.8 million results. Some people knew it was compared to the Japanese movie Battle Royale, but I think this was the indirect opposite since The Hunger Games doesn't use guns in teens. Battle Royale is one brutal, cruel and violent movie.

Which made it controversial and was almost banned by the Japanese parliament. Well in a way those things made that way movie awesome by stepping on a lot of taboos in a single movie.
