That's why the PC is and stays the best. Much more stuff you can do with it.

Just costs a little more though. :P

    My quote:
'Meh, I don't really care anymore about the new games direction, with many loads of hours(make that years actually) on Tib Sun, YR, Generals, CnC3, and RA3, plus all the mods they come with, another game with the same old formula is rather redundant IMO. '

Only a little though. Shame people do continously fall for that misconcpetion, though you got to hand it to the console marketing guys, they did their job quite good to demonize the PCs technical superiourity into a monetary nightmare. Respect for that.

consoles you can just put the disc in and play tho, computers demand you go through installs, plenty of updates,
gotta admit its nice for a hassle free gaming experience (tho consoles are heading towards pc's for updates and what not)

also the games are designed to the hardware in the console since its standardized. no "i will have to twiddle with the setting or lower the quality to play it".

hassle free is nice, it just limits you.

Not really, I think most people get tired of videogames bcs they dont have some other hobbies to alternate with, if you use most of the hours of the day the whole week to play videogames then obviously you are gonna grow tired.

That's why I also do some other stuff, with a chronogram full you come to appretiate those few hours you have for every videogame.
Live well. It is the greatest revenge... And be the salt and light of Earth.

I haven't touched my PS3 or Xbox 360 since Winter. So yes, unless you've already guessed my answer, I am tired of this generation.

But it's not mainly because the consoles are seriously outdated, it's also because of the direction game publishers are taking these days. I hate it, and I'm starting to hate most game publishers too. Things such as CoD Elite, or an online pass. And no matter how much the publisher gets our money, the online is always broken on a lot of games released recently. Such as Gears of War 3, Killzone 3, Halo: Reach, CoD: MW 3, Uncharted 3 to name a few. All the games mentioned I have poured money into, and still have to put up with bugs, unbalanced weapons and maps and generally a bad online experience. And that type of stuff seems rampant in this generation of games.

Although PC is fine, gotta love PC gaming...

The reason why it takes so long to get out of this current generation is because of R&D costs and the likes of Sony, MS and Nintendo will wait to release the next-gen consoles rather than ask us to pay a sub $500 to $600 for a new system.

Some people are willing to pay $500 to $600 on a new console system but a lot of people will see that price and say " I can build a halfway decent gaming PC for half that price right now".

So, in other words Nintendo, Sony and MS stretch out longevity of the current consoles as much as they can until they're ready to release new systems at more reasonable pricing to the consumers.

I'm not tired with this generation. But I am starting to get tired of Nintendo booby trapping their own market. I loved Wii when it first came out... but now I barely play it anymore. Maybe once every two months..

I love Nintendo and don't want to give up on them... but all they do in recent times is isolate themselves from the rest of the game market and force gamers to choose who to go with. Most decent games that are for other consoles or PC can't be seen on Wii because the system is simply not capable of playing them or playing them properly. That means that if a Nintendo fan wants to experience those games they need to buy another console... Why does Nintendo do this?

Nintendo is awesome for innovating game designs, but they always do it at the pointless cost of removing modern gameplay capabilities and it is starting to wear thin on my patience. I would like to have a Nintendo console that is able to play new and innovative games but also be able to fall back on tried and true style modern games as well. Why do I have to choose? Why do I have to waste more money because Nintendo refuses to do things the logical way?

Sadly, because Microsoft and Sony have that market firm in their hands. It's not like Nintendo pushed for innovative systems/games and the casual market much by choice, it is Sony and Microsoft being flatout stronger in the classical niches with wellknown franchises and the more powerful consoles to play to those games strenghts that pushed Nintendo into their current position. Mind you, BigN is still earning themselves a golden nose and can sneeze into hundred dollar bills, but the "hardcore" gaming niche is more or less lost to them.

This is what it comes down to, the controller is a bit different but the mote and numchuck can be used exactly like a N64 controller with no drawbacks, it's just split. If they had a thumbstick on the mote too it could easily used just like Microsofts and Sonys controllers.
The problem is that the Wii just isn't powerful enough for modern games. If it were there would be many more games also available for it. So yes, they did push themselves into that niche.
Nintendo had a solid stance in classical stuff with the GameCube.
