Xbox360 is popular. PS3 is still pricey and its hardware doesn't use all 8-core CPUs. Nintendo is still obsolete on the graphics. PC gaming still gets the win.

But as of now, I am tired of the 7th generation of video games. Even older games tend to make me dizzy due to the graphics. It's time to bring on the 3D HD gaming one day.

No, and I won't until Matrix style gaming is real.

...Or at least until I think it's real, because the Matrix is telling that it is... O_O .

i want a new generation of consoles only because they are holding back most games from their full potential since this gen consoles hardware is almost 7 years old and developers just cannot go a step ahead in terms of graphics and gameplay with such restrictions

Well atleast we are starting to enter the 8th Generation with the 3DS and Vita already being released. Sure it may only be in the handheld market but once the Wii U is released then it will really start!

I always anticipate new technology no matter what, and I do think people should quit it with the overzealous fanboy-ism, but I'm not specifically tired of the 7th generation.

If the 8th generation can get rid of the idiotic zeal surrounding these companies (which I must say I highly doubt will happen), as well as bring more convenient gaming to the public, then I'm all for it.

Games developed on current gen systems are only as good as the developers are at making them. PS3 and Xbox 360 still can push the limits as evidenced by Crytek using emulative shortcuts to get DX11 effects simulated on both PS3 and Xbox 360 hardware with Crysis 3 but will it stay put is another beast altogether. If any developer can push the PS3 and Xbox 360 beyond it's boundaries leave it to Crytek.

I would have said Epic could do it too but they focus too much on phone and tablet devices lately >.>
Which for me is especially sad as they were the first who said they wouldn't do that as it would cause high end stuff to stagnate. Imo exactly what happened. The UE was superior to the CE but that was a long time ago.

But that isn't true. Nintendo's goal for the past decade has been to get away from modern gaming habits in order to develop something fresh and new that appeals to people of all ages. That is their strategy. They weren't pushed into that corner, they took that course of action on their own.

What I don't understand is why. Not why are they trying to invent new ways to play, but why they are removing things that have no drawbacks to what they are planning on achieving?

In order to make a faster car, you don't need to change the fabric used in its interior.

Granted, keeping up with the specs of other company's consoles AND innovating the market could end up costing in production fees, I honestly think its worth it if it means that Nintendo can bag the "I want new ways to play!" market AND the "I want to be able to play Call of Duty on it!" market as well.

That is why I was so excited about WiiU's controller. Because if you ignored the giant touch screen on it, it's layout could work as a modern gaming controller. But then I heard how Nintendo was limiting the amount of tablets in use (originally to only 1 but now it is tentatively 2).

And if that wasn't bad enough, now I'm hearing that Wii U is struggling to keep up with the powers of this generation's consoles. Why are they just throwing away a potential market of people who like to play cross console games? If WiiU can't handle last gen graphics, how do they expect companies to port their games over and still keep any semblance of what makes them so good? Doing that is just going to isolate them again. Developers would have to focus specifically on making WiiU games or just ignore it completely. Because from a dev's perspective, why bother spending money on a port when they can just ignore WiiU all together and just stay with the consoles that generate a profit?
