    Iron Sky

So, who here went to the cinema and saw Iron Sky?

It premiered here yesterday, I saw it today, and I am freaking amazed. Not only is this a hollywood-level show when it comes to special effects, but also it has a really well written, intelligent script with some really good jokes that make you laugh even a few minutes after them.

It also has a rather unpredicted downer ending, and the shift in tone, after a whole hour of sillness, made me walk out of the cinema with a big :O on my face thinking "Maybie it was not so silly after all.."

For the independent production it is - It's awesome. As a movie - It's really, really good I say.

    What do you guys think?

Decent movie. Great soundtrack. Some great jokes here and there. Not enough Yuri Kier.

I want to see it badly but the thing is when will it be released in North America?

I already saw it...... and I say its messed up in both good and bad ways.

    My quote:
'Meh, I don't really care anymore about the new games direction, with many loads of hours(make that years actually) on Tib Sun, YR, Generals, CnC3, and RA3, plus all the mods they come with, another game with the same old formula is rather redundant IMO. '

    Heil Adler!

But yes, I was hoping to see more of him. On the bright side, the main cast was really decent, with the US President being a really hilarious performance.

    ------------

As a whole, I was surprised by the pacing (rather steady build-up from a small beginning to a really epic finale, completely un-hollywoodish). And the jokes were surprisingly few - I was expecting a load of cheese, and instead this is a rather clever movie that, despite it's absurd premise, doses the humor in small potions, and much of it is surprisingly subtle.

Yes, the soundtrack is great, Laibach can do no wrong, however, I thought it was a bit too quiet compared to the rest of the audio.

I don't remember, if I am correct they are still negotiating the release. If my memory is correct, they *may* have mentioned summer somewhere on their facebook, but I am not sure of it.

So it recently came out here on DVD and I just watched it. It was good but also had some weird parts in it. Not enough Udo Kier though.

My favourite scene has to the UN one with North Korea, Lol.

Also they have announced a Prequel and Sequel for Iron Sky, will keep tabs on it.

Have seen the movie now too (blessed be student intranet data exchange!) and I have to say it was underwhelming. So much potential, but what we got was Palin in her menopause, some lameass racism attempts and characters so bleak if they were any less substantiated they'd fall under the jurisdiction of Schrödiger's cat.

I had some laughs here and there, but not because of some wit, but simply because the movie was plain silly. Now, silly is good, it was fun after all, but I wouldn't watch it a second time, least of all pay for it.
