Oxygen problems with new fighters isn't unprecedented.

What is crazy is what the USAF is doing about it. Namely, sending it up to fly anyway, botching the charcoal sensor that issued to pilots to analyze what they're breathing by issuing them a sensor that ended up letting them breathe charcoal, and threatening pilots who don't want to fly it out of health concerns with expulsion from the Airforce.

    Ridiculous.

    WTFLol!?

That highlighted part about "There's nothing wrong with the fighter, it's entirely the pilots fault to being too distracted trying to be alive after his oxygen supply went missing, which we can totally asure you has NOTHING to do with the fighter at all, durr." is such a refuge in audacity, I'd have fired those guys that came up with that for sheer lack of creativity.

That's like saying it's the fault of a tightrope walker falling down because he was too distracted by having been shot.

    I mean, ... seriously?

They are probably doing this on purpose to replace the pilots with computers.

"How can you tell a plane was run by a computer?"
    "It crashed!"

    Hmmm...

“Technology got stronger but we got weaker. We built computers, robots, whole unmanned armies and no one ever asks ‘what happens.. when the enemy steals the keys’? And the things they built to keep us safe are turned against us… but that’s when they figured it out. They’ll always need men like us.. those who are willing to do what others cannot.”

    Fellow forumites, no.

UCAVs are already the next big thing without ever having to badmouth pilots.

LEAST OF ALL, in a way that makes the USAF look incompetent. They may have done some stupid things before, but I do not recall them ever cutting off their nose to spite their face.

This is a case of institutional pride and ego overriding logic. Happens all the time.

It's a pretty big case at that though. If I am annoyed at anything at all it's the utter lack of creativity. I mean ... "a weather balloon did it" would have been better than straight twisting the facts into some mishmash that doesn't make sense and let's everyone see what's going on that has the faintest amount of common sense.
