has anyone played End of nations (RTS from the westwood guys)

speaking of huge piles of steaming crap - has anyone here other than me been invited to the EoN alpha or Beta? That game is a real mess; it's fun factor is zero. This is the game that the old westwood boys are making and calling the Holy Grail of RTS - MMORTS.

For all of you clamoring for the days of westwood I'd warn against actually getting what you wish for. C&C4 was terrible, but I'd take it over the EoN fiasco. I think our best bet at getting what we want is right here with Generals 2.

A MMORTS is an interesting idea, but rather risky as a concept i'd imagine. I wouldn't be so harsh: it looked weird, but then they say its full of placeholder art.

An MMORTS? You mean like C&C4?

Cake is a lie. There is only Pudding.

    Through Calories I gain Weight.
    Through Weight I gain Girth.
Through Girth my Belt is Broken.

^ CNC4 is far from that. They might have similarities but EoN have a more MMO feel than CNC4 imo. CNC4's MMO'ish level goes only as far as CO-OP on SP and that's it. I'm thinking that EoN is more than that, chances are they have a more open ended world compared to CNC4's Campaign.

Hunters are OP, but the Cobras disagree

From what I hear, it has to potential to hold thousands of battles containing up to 56 players. It's pretty similar to EndWar, in that you can choose a location to fight from the world map, and each victory spreads your faction's influence. It's an MMO in its persistant world, and the fact that you can jump in to a game at any given time. That's what I gather from what I've read, anyway.

Idk after Empire at War and Rise of Immortals, both of which had a fun factor of about zero, I don't know if they ever get something good going.

Just as a reminder, this game is NOT from the old Westwood people. They already have dispersed off to somewhere else.

Yep, i played. I played Alpha, and applied to Beta.
Unfortunately, there were not much players online. But when there are enough... IT'S AWESOME!

And the music - it's epic. EPIC.

Oh, and to those who compare this to C&C4 - EoN is much more balanced.

First of all, Trion Worlds mostly developed this game along with Petroglyph coming up with the main stuff. Although the game is free to play for a MMORTS, the overall concept of the game itself is decent, but the only part I wanted from that game is the music soundtrack from Frank Klepacki.
