Exclamation Will Generals 2 be ready for 2013?

Several times I wrote about how the Generals 2 should have, "Influence of Environment on game" and many other things, and now Company of Heroes 2 have it. What makes the game much more interesting and more realistic in this regard.

"I wrote this when RA3 was in progress, and I wrote it also when CnC4 was in progress, but EA didn't listen... Ok, this is Frosbit 2 and we will see that magic of new ENGINE for RTS! This is my proposal for better game. For this new engine i think this will not be a problem.

    1. Shift of day ant night! It will be more beautiful, more realistic and more cool. It makes warfare much realistic. Etc... When you play first 15min is day, next 15min is night. And units is react on shift differently. Etc... Commando, Spy units should be better at night then at day. Quad Cannon should have longer vision at day etc...

    2. When you zoom in your army you should be able to hear them talking something. But in battlefield you should hear them screaming, call for support etc...like in video when quad cannon attacks EU units they start speaking something.

3.Weather and map environment. When you play with EU in some desert map, where is very hot, your infantry should be moving slowely. When is rain and high wind you shouldn't be able to use air units, or they can be used but they will crash after while."

Company of Heroes players are not thinking about who should be stronger in the game. They desire and seek a good and fun game. But here, 98% of forum users not interested for good game. They are interested for stronger USA than the GLA, and GLA does not have a tank, just they riding on a camel and the USA to bomb them with Invisible planes. EA Games this is the last chance for the C&C. 2013 is a big fight for the "Best Strategy" and return to C&C in its best light. Who knows what will be the Company of Heroes 2? And, maybe for a couple of months we get an announcement for Act of War 2? Which is just a phenomenal, their infantry movements, graphics, and much more. But he had not a good advertisement for first AOW. EA, I donot get anything, but I like C&C. You're the one that you take the money. I think it should for you to start listening to the players and you have much better communication with them.

    Good luck General!

Actually, they complain that the America isn't in the game (as it's situated on eastern front) and, it should roll over mindless conscripts in shitty tanks drinking Vodka. Really similar to what we have. But ozr forumers at least don't go into such idiocies as saying that noone fought on the eastern front, or other,...

The suggestions you made are interesting, but most of them were used in older strategy games and we still use normal systems. Why is that? They added to the immersion, but made balance even worse. Reviewers of the time said they are "shitty clones of Red Alert 2".

A day night cycle is possible with frostbite 2 and I really want to see it in Generals 2.

I don't like the idea of weather having such drastic effects on gameplay however. Maybe some minor effects like slightly less visibility or speed but nothing to the extent of disabling large portions of the game. Especially if the weather is made a random occurrence.

Weather related missions would be great to have in any C&C. Having the weather effect what units you can use in a given mission would bring about a much needed challenging mechanic that is sorely missed in C&C.

For instance if you were to take the GDI commando mission from Tib Dawn and add a winter scene with a blizzard ongoing then as a designer I would probably have you start out with a Special Forces team in Winterized gear with snowmobile units with guns on it. Once you get into the base undetected the units could take control of more useful vehicles to get the job done to create a distraction so your other units could plant C4 around the key base structures to cripple the enemy.

a little point about the superior tanks..

    red alert1...... soviet mammoth tank
    red alert2...... soviet Apocalypse tank
    red alert3...... soviet Apocalypse tank
tib dawn........ gdi (through russia) mammoth tank
    tib sun.......... ditto
    tib wars........ ditto

generals 1...... 1st china emperor tank
.....................2nd gla (when upgraded) marauder tank
    .....................3rd usa paladin tank

usa has the best mbt with the crusader,(even then the others can get great upgrades such as hord bonus, rapid reload and fire upgrades, nuclear engine upgrades. or gla scavenge to upgrade, self repair, anthrax, rockets and with some support power stealthed) but usa gets no way near the best tank in the game

    on topic.

way back as far as ra1 i thought it would be interesting to have weather effect the battle field(if heavy rain and well run down areas could become muddy rutted areas that would slow down units trying to pass through them, that would mean you would have to use alternate routes, similar to tib sun ice but not able to loose units )

day/night cycles are perfectly possible in the current SAGE cnc games too

a number of custom maps in cnc3/ra3 featured day night cycles; and ill be frank here:
    they
    were
    frigging
    annoying.

there were even custom mission maps with these day/night cycles - infact i found them so instrusive i actually edited and removed them from the maps before i could play through them

and now theres talk of actually making these things have an effect on gameplay too (like having to strain your eyes to spot units in the dark, and then being scorched by bright sunshine ambience a few minutes later wasnt bad enough)? really?
    ---------
weather isnt a bad addition per se - its a nice aesthetic feature... infact i love having rain/snowy weather on some maps.

but dynamic weather that changes during the course of a game?
    weather that limits/affects player strategies?
hell no - keep that out of cnc please.

most people here sorely miss the truly salient points of cnc gameplay :/

That kind of immersion would be nice.

They should have weather in campaign, and it would affect the gameplay, but it would be purely aesthetic in multiplayer. also, maybe night and day would affect gameplay, but they wouldn't change, however you would still need different tactics on different maps.

Indeed it will be, would add more to the single player.

    My quote:
'Meh, I don't really care anymore about the new games direction, with many loads of hours(make that years actually) on Tib Sun, YR, Generals, CnC3, and RA3, plus all the mods they come with, another game with the same old formula is rather redundant IMO. '

And best of all would be to take on or off before the skirmish game:

Shift of day ant night - on/off
    Weather - on/off

However Generals 2 must have great changes.
