I really liked it, thought it was a great movie. Seemed to have enough "ommmph" for me.
Where's the action?!
It was a great movie. I'm not normally one to judge movies, I tend to just like all movies I watch, even the bad ones, so my word may not be a good one to follow. I will say that after this movie, I wanted to walk right back in and watch it again, it really is enjoyable. It may not be the next Inception or V for Vendetta in terms of thought out plot and twists, but it is pretty solid. If you are not a hyper movie critic, you will enjoy The Avengers.
This movie would be more epic if Spiderman and the Fantasic Four are in (since they are Marvel characters). I thought the Spiderman would have been an avenger.

I think in the sequel Spiderman would be a part of the Avengers. Not the Toby Maguire Spiderman but that new pubescent Spiderman. I think the movie is a little bit long and there are some cheesy parts (like the one scene where Captain America made his speech when he saved a bunch of German people) and I hate the way *spoilers* Agent Phil Coaleson died considering he appeared in most of the prequels and Cobie Smulders there just made me feel I was watching an episode of "How I met your mother". All in all the movie was good but not as good as the first Iron Man movie. Did not get to see the "Shawarma" scene because it is not available in my country, but I heard it was epic.
THERE'S A 99% CHANCE THAT NO ONE HAS READ THIS.

Do they have the rights to include Spider-man?

Difficult to answer that question unless we know who you're referring to with, "Who".
AFAIK Spiderman is Marvel property, so on that end, there shouldn't be any problem. In the comic realm, Spiderman was involved with the Avengers, so there is precedence there as well.
Heck why not do this since Marvel is owned by Disney why not include Mickey Mouse dressed as Spiderman.
I mean Marvel Studios. They don't have the rights to the x-men for example and because of that they can't be in their movies. Spider-man might be in the same boat.

QUOTE:
BURBANK, CA—During the final installment of a three-part retrospective podcast on the film studio Thursday, longtime Disney illustrator Russell Schroeder revealed that every one of the company's live-action and animated features takes place in a single, unified world. "Most people don't know this was the way Walt Disney envisioned it, but every one of these films takes place in the same interconnected universe," said Schroeder, explaining that Never Never Land is only five minutes away from the coral reef where Nemo lives along with Daryl Hannah's character from Splash." "The plot of the The Lion King may not be happening at the same time as Aladdin, but those characters are all there in that world while it's going on. Of course, if the filmmakers had been so inclined, they could have had Jasmine hop into Herbie Fully Loaded and speed through Pride Rock on her way to see the Jonas Brothers' 3D Concert Experience—that is, if she didn't get tricked by Br'er Rabbit's Tar Baby first." When asked why more characters didn't cross paths during their adventures, Schroeder responded that filmmakers have approached the collective kingdom rather cautiously ever since Bambi's mother was mistaken for a rabid dog and shot by Travis from Old Yeller.
