    modding dependency

    Hmmm, is it possible to make a unit require similar types of of preqs?

    Like making a unit require either of the three tier three buildings, but not all.

    Yes, the element EquivalentTo in the required objects should do the trick, an ObjectFilter in the GameDependency element could work too.
    When going with EquivalentTo I would suggest creating a dummy that can never be actually built and setting its display name to something that represents any equivalent object. So the UI doesn't get confusing.

    No more like:
    Code:
    <ObjectFilter
    	Rule="ANY">
    	<IncludeThing>AlienReactor</IncludeThing>
    	<IncludeThing>NODTechAssemblyPlant</IncludeThing>
    	<IncludeThing>GDIArmory</IncludeThing>
    </ObjectFilter>
    Though I can't guarantee if it works.

    Thanks for the tips.

    Well, actually, I can guarantee that this is used in the Tib Essense Mod.

    The GhostStalker Unit over there uses this code as I have learned just recently after some research.

    Basicly, the button is greyed out and the unit unbuildable until you build that preq building you need, though there are no hints on what the requirements are on the UI, similar to when you have reached a unit count limit such as the commando.

    I can't really put any shots, thats confidential information I wish not to share for the time being. :P

    And you never tried it yet? You should lol....

    Had no need for it yet :P
    But yeah, thought as much, with the first solution I gave it should display something as prereq ^^

    Also I actually very rarely touch a mod, I'm active in modding because I like building stuff/programming, generally I prefer the original game.

    Heh, I like to mod cause I want to make stuff for my game, making stuff, then playing with them, kinda like Legos.
