that cancellation of the film remake was such a big mistake.. it would help introduce a new generation to the dune universe. they would get a ton of cash just to say "yes go ahead", and loads of people would be interested to buy and read the book.

the problem was probably they wanted more $$$ to say the word "yes".. and no money is better than the millions they could of got because it wasnt millions enough

onless someone knows more info thats what im assuming happened anywho..

The studios attached to the new film pulled out due to the steep financial demands from the license holder. That's all I can recall as it came down to money as usual.

I highly doubt if there will be a Dune movie in 2014 after a movie development cancellation, but I used to like this article that mentioned it: http://janeiris.hubpages.com/hub/Dun...-Watch-Out-For

The first Dune movie in 1984 had negative critic reviews, but its ministries in 2003 had high rating acclaim.

Dune: Evolution looked amazing, really showed that Dune would have a good future in gaming if it got another RTS adaptation.

One thing that really bugs me about all the Dune games I've seen so far is that they seem to have nothing to do with the book. In the book, most people used swords. In the games, people use guns, tanks, mechs, and other such things that never show up in the book.

I think it would be awesome to have a lasgunner spark a subatomic explosion in the game. Have shields that you can turn on while your units are on rocks, and off while they're on sand (otherwise, the worms get you for sure), melee assassin Fremen, slow pellet gunners. Maybe some artillery that is completely ineffective if a unit is shielded would be good, but there are no panzer battalions in Dune. Except in the games.
