Don't plan on Generals 2 being release for any of the consoles soon. Right now the PC version is the priority of the development team.

When I played C&C3 and Kane's Wrath for xbox, I don't remember being too impressed. I just don't like the controls. PC is much easier to control IMO.

So I don't see why RTS games (in the traditional form) should be on console.

I shall await the return of Tiberium in the name of Kane! KANE LIVES IN DEATH!

Favourite C&C: Tiberian Sun; Reason: Atmosphere, what more needs to be said?

Well, I am all well with them trying to port them if they want. But only AFTER the game was properly developed for the PC, so console dependent features don't inhibit the PC version of the game.

Probably because the game wasn't as complicated back then.

And because it was PC game that was ported on the PS, not a console game that happens to be available on PC too as is mostly the case now.

You know, I was thinking. If Generals 2 isn't going to have modding and mapping tools, why not put it on the consoles?

Because the trend for shallow DLC would make the developers look bad if the community would inevitably come up with far better mods for free?

Just guessing here. The few games that have half an active modding community and tools at their hands have always yielded mods of such quality that not seldom modders have been asked to become parts of the development teams for sequels.

Xtended Mod for X³ Reunion for example (the X series has a great modding community!), the game that came after X³ Terran Conflict, had some of those modders in their developer teams and flat out copied a good number of their mod to incorporate them in the maingame. Other modders have written scripts for things like turret and firing controls that can blast the original scripts to smithereens a hundred times over, let alone created whole new scripts for things like proper fleet management and combat behaviour (seriously a couple good equipped capital ships running MARS and CODEA can destroy virtually any number of vanilla-script run AI ships that is short of breaking the game due to precessing strain. And Andraste help your computer if both your fleet AND the AI's are running those scripts, that's component meltdown potential right there!).

Good guess. And it's a nice way to take more money from gamers.

Generals 2 is indeed PC Exclusive. I personally wouldn't rule out a console version coming out for next-gen after the PC version has been completed somewhere down the road.. DLC? Too soon to judge Generals 2 DLC and what will be offered.
