I intend to get the DLC, either when Steam puts on discount or when I get my desktop set up.

And Feloidea, I think that they refrained originally from adding religion entirely because, after the creation of Civ 4, the developers got a death threat from a group of Sikhs (they're normally peaceful, don't ask), because Sikhism wasn't one of the religions you could spread. My assumption is that there was a mass protest from the fans for removing religion entirely, so they're adding it now. As you can note, they have added Sikhism to the game. However, I don't want to point it out now, because I am very tired and lazy. Do it yourself.

I think the official wording was: "Because religions, or moreso the fact of sharing or not sharing a religion railroaded diplomacy and we wanted to get rid of that to give players more diplomatic freedom".

Nevermind the fact that diplomacy in CiV was and still is mostly confined to accepting declarations of war and declining declarations of friendship so when they ask you for free stuff five rounds later you don't get even more negative points.

If I were to point to a single thing that I think is responsible for me not liking it's the competitive gameplay. Since when was the AI in Civ competitive? That and all that derives from that is what makes CiV crap imho.
