Question My 1st map in world builder. I tried in game. My mini map doesnt un shroud fog of war

Hello community. Im getting familiar with world builder. Am coming across some annoyances though that i hope someone can help me through please.

1- My first one, how can my mini map work ok in game so that when i go somewhere new it un shrouds on the minimap [fog of war clears up]. So u get to see the uncovered terrain on map to. All see is black with green and blue on map for tiberium ^^. Another thing. In the game lobby my map doesnt show up also. only the points where u can start your army in.

    Looking forward to the replies.

Well, both of your problems have the same reason - the TW WB creates very bad preview pictures, hence the minimap allways seems to be black.

I tihnk there is a tutorial somewhere around how to make a proper minimap image, but I cant seem to find it...

It's not a bad image, it's the heightmap.
But for the right image displaying create a top down screenshot of your whole map, save it as 128x128 while naming it [mapname]_art.tga

i read something about copy and pasting in an app then cropping and making sure to call it a tga file. I think im going to give this another go. I might be ok i have the feeling. Thanks for your comments u guys, very helpful . One more thing. On the map, is there a way for the tiberium to be showing to? as u can only see where it spawns from but no colour round this mark ie green or blue. I know of the radius command where u can see how far the tiberium will go to but is there a way to actually seeing the tiberium like it is in game? thanks

i dont know if _art made the difference but i have just been in the game. all is fine now, yay. i called it [name]_art.tga saving it inn 128x128 also (i had kinda tried this before but noticed i didnt use '_art'). in the game the tiberium shows to so im happy. Im rlly keen to make/finish this map off now. Seemed daunting at 1st the application to make maps but i just played with for abit and before u know it i feel comfy in it. Thanks for help again guys. If u think a link might be worth me checking out relating to world building please add as a comment to this thread. thanks

Oh also for non symmetrical maps you have to flip the image upside down as the y coordinate of the image is inverted.

As said, in WorldBuilder select top down view, deselect the visibility of everything you don't want (Areas, Waypoints, etc) then just take a screenshot, flip it upside down and save it as 256x256 mapname_art.tga
It's what EA did. Any other retouch like this or this is up to you (note the radar's background is black by default, not transparent)
