    Online skirmish disconnect

Hey, sorry if this question has allready been asked somewhere.

I bought RA3 today in the steam sale, and tried to play a skirmish together with a friend. (who also bought it on steam) Hosting and joining seems fine at first, but after about 5 minutes the game just kicks me out. I havent tried any of the other game modes yet, so Im not sure if its just skirmish.
Anyone else who has this problem or even better, the solution?

Hey I have the same problem.
Whenever I join or create a lobby, and try to launch the game, my connexion stops the game from launching. So I get kicked.
All the ports are open, so I don't know where the problem is coming from ...

Exactly the same happens to me.
I just bought ra3 in that steam sale, and I tried to do some online matches.
I've been trying for days now and I still haven't played one single match because of conexion problems.
I've opened all the necessary ports on my router, and even deactivated the firewall to see if that helps, nothing.

When I try to play hosted games, the host always tells me to disconnect because it can't connect with me.
When I try to 1v1 automatch, it takes ages to find a player, and when it does, we both load, and then I get a "Disconnect Menu" screen, saying that one or more players have lost connection etc.

I just googled as much as I could, but there are very few results, and none of them helpful to me.

I'm just so dissapoint of buying this game... unless someone can find a working solution.

Allow exceptions with your firewall for RA3. Or see if enabling DMZ on your router config page will allow you to play with others.

    Thanks for the reply.
First I checked the firewall and there were a lot of exceptions refering to RA3 there, but just in case, I turned the firewall off.
Next I found and entabled DMZ on my router with my current internal IP.

Still not working, it keeps just popping me up the disconnect menu in automatch, and in lobby games the hosters say I have connection error.

I'm sorry I can't really help you further (I'm not really versed with RA3 - normally deal with the older C&C's with support)

Couple of other things to consider. Wireless or Hardwired? Any antivirus installed that could be locking connections? Have you tried on a different PC or laptop on the same connection?

I'm not much help with the technical stuff RA3 wise either. Post more of your system specs here including your connection type (direct connect, router, etc.) The reason no one is helping is because

    1) No one has any idea or
    2) Technical types won't deal with problems that do not have sufficient information to actually help you

    Also go here

    http://www.gamereplays.org/community...showforum=2727

and post the same thing. Be patient, keep updating this with as much information as you can provide and someone a lot smarter than me will be able to help you. Have you also tried EA CS? They are a tad slow, the first response is guaranteed to be crap but they will help if you are persistent

Ok, thank you for the advice, I'll try to post there too see if I get some help.

    OS: Windows XP SP3 32-bit

    Connexion:
    - Router Xavi 7968 (Spain)
    - 10 MB Bandwidth (=1.100 kb/s download speed)
    - Connexion by wireless modem (external, not integrated)
    - All RA3 needed ports opened, DMZ entabled as well.
    - I setuped a static internal IP for my machine, so I don't have to re-open all those ports.

    Antivirus:
    - Microsoft Security Essentials (up-to-date)
    - Firewall: the Windows XP one.

    Specs:
    - Intel Core i3 @ 3.2 GHz
    - 2 GB RAM
    - nVidia GeForce GT 220 1 GB

I think that might be all revelant information about my setup. Hope that helps somehow.

PS: I haven't tested it on any other PC, as the only other one I have is a shitty laptop that can't even run minesweeper.
