    Thumbs up Anti Helicopter Mines

    Description:
the anti-helicopter mine is designed to operate against low flying helicopters. The 90 kg mine is activated by specific targets, identified by acoustic and radar Doppler shift signatures.

    Positive Effect:
These mines could be a low cost solution to combat helicopter rush attacks from any faction and would also provide defense to resources behind your lines which could be harassed. Because of the small blast radius the helicopters would be required to fly almost directly over head. This means strategic placement will be the key factor to their effectiveness.

    Negative Effect:
Because these mines should not be able to hit higher flying aircraft such distinctions must be coded in to prevent these aircraft being damaged. For instance a helicopter and plane both fly over the mine at the same time only the helicopter should be damaged not the plane.

Well, if all factions will have helicopters, than it have sense (although little high tech for GLA for more hi-tech factions seems ok) otherwise is in some combination useless stuff.
Even when we seen helicopters for both EU and GLA in trailers and artworks for Gen2 there were GLA helicopters in artworks for first Generals too, so it IMO really depend on fact if all factions get helos to give this special purpose weaponary sense in every possible match combination.

If there is possibility to use this mine agains ground target too (automaticaly or switching between ground / air mode) like modern top attacking mines that attack from distance then it can be usefull weapon in any scenario.

Interesting idea, I don't see why these couldn't be in G2.

The question is would it be a practical counter for the player to use. Say if it were a units special ability what would make them choose it over a bunch of rocket infantry?

    - Even with laser lock can be infantry group easily crushed by fast vehicles like Technical if confronting group of same value and in overall is mine more resistant as it isn't living thing (paratroopers, sniper, toxin, radiation, fire) thus give your enemy less of available effective counters which results in better predictability of your enemy.

    - Mine is unlike infantry supposed to work without protection in their duty of producing high loses or at least slowing down advance by defusing process.
There are two possibilities how mine can work:
1.limited distance on which can be mine detected
2.mine is visible but weapon range of mine is bigger than supposed targets weapon range (gunships, tanks and similar early tier vehicle stuff).
Each of this options prevent from overwhelming by quick surprise attack, thus mine operate always on high efficiency unlike infantry which produces good results only under direct control.

Adding mines which can attack on distance around high priority targets like supply sources, tech centers, command center or main attacking routes can by thus better choice than using vulnerable missile infantry of same value for this purpose.
As GLA have tunnels with which can quickly cover any place on map with vehicles that provide better long term value is this kind of more expensive mine less useful for this nation in comparison to China like slow reaction faction or faction with vulnerable supply line due high starting cost and expensive units even on low tiers like USA.
