    The Dark Knight Rises

The seventh Batman movie (as motion-picture) and possibly the epic conclusion to the Batman saga:

If the trailer did meant the epic conclusion of Batman, I hope there should not be an eighth Batman movie as a reboot.

Will I watch it? No; while the plot and story are good in some terms, some drama scenes are a bit tedious similar to The Dark Knight and more tedious in Batman Begins. Also the movie could have been more epic if it had 3D technology being done.

Why wouldn't you watch it anyway? It will be great fun. I personally dont expect anything and because of that I'll have a blast ,knowing well that its just another hero movie.

Gonna watch it too, so is it confirmed that the Riddler is the villain that Batty will face? (haven't watched vid btw)

Kinda' completely missing the point, since Dark Knight was a hardly a superhero movie - The atmosphere, topics, and thematical depth are completely off the charts for an usual "superhero" movie. And it's not about how awesome the main hero is, but about story. Which is a meanigful drama that makes you think for a while.

And I am hoping for this movie as impressive as the previous one.

Exact opposite here - Batman is the only superhero I actualy like as a superhero. There were more than a few superhero movies I enjoyed, but for being enjoyable movies, not because I adored the characters I saw there.

    Nope, the villain is Bane.

Never thought much about the charater, it seemed one of the least interesting.. Untill I saw trailers for Dark Knight Rises. Bane here is just mezmerising. And gets an awesome theme tune, too.. Watch the first vid from the top, it's just two minutes, and those are two minutes of awesome.

What? You are telling me you have never-ever seen that screenplay on a film before? Really? No drama-action movie that did that?
A kidnap of a long childhood love by a man who lives in a cave who drives a tank through the city and flies a bat-jet? Not a superhero movie ,really?
Avengers and Transformers were then awesome by your standards.
The whole point of "taking" a known character ,like a comic hero , is to start on a firm base and lurring in a bunch of people only by its name. Would you be interested at all in a movie called "Pie-a story of pie" unless a friend recommended it ,and it just might be the new Pulp Fiction?(Im not saying that a superhero movie cannot be good ,Im saying that Batman wasn't)

    I did, I get it.

But not only mine, but also common critical opinion is that The Dark Knight had something more than just a superhero in a silly costume, it was a great movie all of it's own, even by ambitious standards, and most certainly not by the amount of camp and sillness included (which is, with all due respect, what Marvel superhero movies are doing).

Just saw the movie earlier today and gotta say that it was a great conclusion to the series. It felt like it had more connections to the first movie and felt like it finished the plot off very well. And one other note is that I am not surprised they had a new trailer for The Man of Steel which is going to come out next year.

    Good movie.

Avengers is the rocker, TDKR is the stage play. Both can have spectacle, both can be awesome, but both are also executed with extremely different tones, and best of all, the producers and directors know how to execute their respective tones.

Avengers fights are cool because it's the match-ups every nerd wants to see. TDKR's fights are cool because there's actually something at stake when the hero and villain fight, and more importantly, they're portrayed in a way that establish a clear connection to that something. Neither try to subsist entirely on explosions and killing for the sake of it like Transformers.

There's at least one major plot hole, and one major editing issue, but they're major in the sense that they're the most serious of the bunch, not that they hugely detract from the overall film.

    Would recommend.
