As EU don't have at least in real world much spy satellites or great manpower I think that is possible that EU will have some drones or even be drone oriented.
Both AirForce and SuperWeapon general in ZH were supportive types but basic factions usualy aren't, or at least I don't remember any basic faction in any C&C with supportive nature.
Main fact is that basic factions are usualy made to allow variability in choosing ideal strategy for specific situation, which specialised subfactions like AF or SW aren't much capable to do.

From first pictures with outposts on buildings it seem that EU will have enchanced deffensive capabilities, but this can change with refining design over time.

If developers inspire with current strenghst and weaknesess of EU weaponary with some mix of Generals storyline, you can expect heavier tanks somewhere between USA and China from first generals, weaker airforce than USA but stronger artyllery units, heavy APCs and most effective defense among factions in Generals 2...

From the little we have seen so far they look like the USA in generals 1. The tanks and units have that feel to them. I think it all comes down to what is that 3rd faction going to be. If the 3rd faction is a China/Asia based one it would make the EU the simular to the old USA side. If the 3rd faction is Russian or a USA western mix then I think the EU will be unique. Maybe they will be the high-tech, fast, light movers. Great for hit and run or fast surprise attacks but bad for all in face to face battles.

One thing is are they going to have a lot of air power in the game. All we know right now is that they have the VTOL Aircraft which would probably be their counterpart to the Comanche. So what kind of bomber/fighter would they have to help support there ground forces. And if they are going to be the main air faction then might I recommend the Eurofighter or a modified version of it to be there raptor counterpart.

It looks like a straight re-skin of the US faction IMHO.
"Not with our current Economical Budget We aint. :P Lets just stick to what we have now alright?"
