I have to agree. So far Origin is doing very well. If compared to how Steam did it during it's first few years I can say that Origin does it much better. Still room for improvements but it does the job pretty good so far.

This, but it's annoying you can't gift stuff.

Maybe we can beg em to add this feature lol.

but Origin is not too bad, as long its always improving and as long as we give proper non whiny and no-nonsense feedback we should be good.

    My quote:
'Meh, I don't really care anymore about the new games direction, with many loads of hours(make that years actually) on Tib Sun, YR, Generals, CnC3, and RA3, plus all the mods they come with, another game with the same old formula is rather redundant IMO. '

Meanwhile only those who buy into the hype or FUD believe that every other Windows is good. It's all very reminiscent of the short term memories apocalyptic doomsayers have.

Talking about anime, I wonder when is that we are going to have a Window 8 OS-tan girl ready...
I like the fact that they deleted the high heels they had in the first version of their concept.

Crowd sourced OS-tans seem to have stagnated. It took an official OS-tan to establish one for Windows 7.

That didn't take long. The first version of my post mentioned "Aside from ME", but I deleted that. Instead I figured I would wait and see who would bite.

ME came at the very end of the 9x line. ME was still an improvement to the previous 9x Windows. Stability wise it suffers, but in terms of feature set, it was an improvement.

I used Windows 2000 instead, because of NT and better stability. Still, Windows 2000 suffered from a lot of bad press too, mostly around broken promises of security that were fixed up pretty quickly. Again, FUD.

So really, I acknowledge ME had flaws, but I don't agree that it supports the tick-tock myth very well. Taken in context of the rest of the entire Windows history, the myth is still weak, and on the flip side, my assertion of continually improving releases isn't completely refuted either.

Now I am stunned on why is that Direct X technology is getting behind.

I always research some of the stuff before posting.

Googling pr0n before going to the forum doesn't count as proper research ...

I hope Windows make an official girl when promoting the OS in Japan

Not all new versions of Windows need to make a jump in Direct X. We had several versions of Direct X 9 until we sat at 9.0c for the longest time. We then got Direct X 10 and 10.1 under Vista. Windows 7 introduced Direct X 11 and will get a patch to DX 11.1 when Windows 8 arrives.

If you had done proper research then you would have noticed Direct X 11.1 articles galore and just Direct X 12 speculation and facts later to be revealed as DX 11.1 in the end.
