Game Update?

My son and I both have the first decade. His start screen looks different from mine and when we try to play online it says we are using different versions of the game. I don't have a game update option, is there any way to be sure we are both using the same version?

"The First Decade" isn't a game, it's a game compilation. Please specify exactly which game in the collection you're talking about.

All games should be the latest version. Getting a game update option usually means the game isn't being ran with full administrator rights, which the games usually require. See the sticky "Common Problems" threat at the top of this forum for help with specific issues.

We are playing Generals Zero Hour. We don't have the option to change the amount of money to start with online. He has that option but I don't, and when we try to join each others games it says mismatch. I am thinking I have an older version?
