Thumbs down Red Alert 3 (XBOX360)

"Hello, I just want to say I'm a gamer, but more so I love stratagy games, I live in a big family with 4 sisters and one brother and myself, and due to the fact that the family computer must be shared I cannot play PC games no matter how much I would like to.

That is why i'm glad of the strides that EA has made in console RTS's. Now I know we (Console players) are a minority, and that their are some dogmatic people who dont care about the consoles, and could care less about the experiance they get from their game. My problem is I have a game that is very fun to play and intuitive, but it is very unbalanced.

I'm talking about the console version of Command and Conquer Red Alert 3, specificly the Xbox 360 version. I've noticed that recently the PC owners of Red Alert 3 got the 1.11 patch. Which made the game even more balenced. What troubles me is that I, as a costumer puchased a product, but was not given the full support that the product is entitled to get.

I believe as a customer, and as a Gamer, that we console owners deserve patches just as much as the PC crowd does.
It is rather sad that the Xbox 360 version is so broken compared to the PC version.

I created a account so I could ask EA or a representitive for answers as to why EA is ignoring their console based customers- notibly the stratagy crowd, and not releasing patches.

I beleive it is my right to enjoy Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 just as much as the PC owners of the same game. I also believe it is EA responsibility to make the best product they can, and to support that product all thoughout it's life cycle regardless of wether or not it is a game on the PC, Xbox 360, or Playstation 3.

I am very saddend that the Console owners of EA's stratagy games are being ignored, and given the short end of the stick when it comes to patches and updates.

Console owners are on patch 1.0. That is unacceptable when the PC owners just recieved patch 1.11. The eleventh patch.
So that is Console owners- 0 patches. PC owners- 11 patches... That looks like favoritism to me... Now I know we console owners are a minority, but EA, you could at least try to give us a patch or two. I dont think it would be the end of the world or the end of your multimillion dollar company. So what do you have to lose? Talk to Microsoft and Sony, tell them you want to support the console versions of Red Alert 3.

We (The Console base) are fans, no more, no less, and no different then the fans of the PC version of Command and Conquer, system specs aside you owe it to your fans and yourself to give everyone a excellent, ballenced, and finished product.

So in summery, Please patch the console versions of Command and Conqure Red Alert 3.
At the very least patch to version 1.5 (Tengus are weak enough as it is...)

Thank you for taking the time to read this complaint... and I look forward to the future of console Real Time Stratagy games."

You are very unlikely to get an answer from EA but let me assure you that there will be no further patches for any current C&C game and let me correct you, the PC version is 1.12 not 1.11. And patch 1.12 came a looooong time ago.

Also, no offense to you or anyone else, but it's really obvious that the console versions are just there to catch some extra cash. If you want to become serious about the game (any strategy game) buy the PC version. Always.

Woah, you posted a thread just like this a year ago. It's weird to think you're still so dedicated to playing the console version when to be quite honest, it's clunky and full of bad players. (I played it years ago)

I'm gonna just say that you'll never get a patch, EA don't care about the console version of C&C 3 or RA3. Because they know most people who bought the game aren't serious about competitive multiplayer. It's true though, on release day it had at most 1000 players online, last year it had around 150 online at all times usually. Consoles just aren't meant for RTS games right now.

But my advice is that depending on your age, get something to do that will give you income, like a job or paper route... something. And get your own PC for gaming, you'll be happy that you did. You seem like you'd really enjoy playing a RTS on PC.

PC vs. Console argument again in regards to RTS games. Guess what? RA3 and KW fairs a lot better on the Xbox 360 than Tiberium Wars ever did.

@OP, You've made this post before and if it starts a PC vs. Console war in regards to RTS games and it gets real heated we may have to lock this up eventually.

It's alright for you to say that the console version is 'clunky and full of bad players' but I'd like to see any of you try and take on any of the half decent players on the console version because I can garentee that you would be shocked at the quality!

All that's being asked is a little attention towards the console version to fix a few major issues with the game, there are hundreds of players that play the console version that loose interest because of this! I don't see why anyone should have to go out and buy a pc/pc version just so they can enjoy the proper game, unfair and unjustified!

For the majority that still play the game on xbox is for the love of the game and because of what is happening people cannot enjoy it competitively anymore!

    Sure....

    1) people are able to unpack their mcv and sell it at the same time thus receiving 2500credits plus an engineer but they don't loose their mcv...they keep it! Tell me if this is not worthy of a patch?!?

    2) if someone is the soviets and they build a crusher crane they can drop power and whatever the crusher crane is building, they get it for free. So if someone starts with 3 crusher cranes they can potentially get 3 expensive buildings for free

They are the 2 major patches needed that do effect outcomes of matches!

Yes, those bugs are well known but due to how the xbox 360 version was developed patching those 2 bugs after launch wasn't possible and still isn't. Nobody ever got a clear explanation why it couldn't be patched. Those 2 bugs you mentioned can be defeated though but it will take practice and some skill.

Honest players who know of these 2 bugs do try to avoid using them to their advantage as I've been in a few games myself and noticed opponents avoiding the issue and playing fairly which is rare.

The crusher crane glitch is easily enough beaten no problem, but playing a 10k ranked game with someone who knows how to mcv glitch makes it damn near impossible to beat whether your the worst player in the world or the best!

There's so much competition to get into the top 100 on console version which makes people more inclined to use an exploit in the game to win! Skill will only get you so far when this is happening!

I heard the development team for ra3 is gone now. It will not be patched at all, and neither will the pc version. However since the pc version is more up to date, I would not reccomend playing xbox any longer.

As Greaves said, "It's alright for you to say that the console version is 'clunky and full of bad players' but I'd like to see any of you try and take on any of the half decent players on the console version because I can garentee that you would be shocked at the quality!", but since I have played both and was top on xbox, I can safely say that the quality of players on xbox is poor, even for the 'good' players that still play it and without proper competition it will most likely stay that way. To be honest, even with competition the quality didn't improve because nobody played the good players. On the pc version, the quality of average players is the same as the best players that still play xbox, which is why if you want to play ra3 competively (which I am guessing you are since you are on here asking for a patch), pc is the best option.

Also, all of the well known glitches, like the ones mentioned here have been patched on pc and the others are very, very rarely used. This allows rankings to be more legit, which was a problem on the xbox version. And since the leaderboard is reset every month on pc, it removes inactive players from the top spots instead of having a never-changing leaderboard, like that on xbox.

I agree that the xbox version should have been patched to the same standard as pc at the same time, but if they will no longer patch the pc version, the xbox version is a lost cause. In the same time it will take to get a game on xbox you could simply order a copy of pc ra3 and get it delivered. All of the problems that have been outlined about the xbox version here are not on pc, so I see no argument for xbox ra3 over pc.
